Oriente getting their ass beat by Nacional in Santa Cruz....is not good. But tehy themselves are not a good squad...hoping for the best with Bolivar...but expecting the worst. They LOST to Oriente on Friday 1-0 in a horrible match. Bolivar do not have the same chemistry like in 2014, despite having essentially the same base. Change of coach, a Bolivian one over Azkargorta, to give him a chance and save the club some money...looks to be a gamble that will not pay off. Hoping I am surprised though....but so far every game as of late since he's been hired, Bolivar has looked really bad and disconected especially in teh back where communication is key.
Wanderers play today: no Pizarro, plus set pieces are this squad's Achillees' heel vs. a Paraguayan team. I'm hoping Luna in the back comes through, as well as Ormeño and Rosales in midfield so that Muñoz can nick a goal but it seems like a tall order. SW have not played in an international tourney since 2004 and Libertad have been around the block for a while; Almeida has an experienced squad. Should be a good game.
Increible que jugo Juan Carlos Espinoza en liga de loja , conocido hace dos años como max barrios y por ser sub 20. Very bad start for Bolivia and Peru in this edition. It seems unlikely any of the Bolivian teams will get through, and only Universitario from Peru is in a good position to advance. Venezuelan teams doing ok, with La Guairá getting the tie away (others tied at home). Still, expect them to lose steam in the second games. Colombia in good position to get all four through. Uruguay likely to get three through, defeating Bolivian teams. The fourth is one of the most interesting: Danubio vs. Catolica (Chile). I expect the Chileans to win that one. In the three duels between Chileans and Paraguayans, the latter have taken a slight advantage. If Libertad can beat Wanderers at home, and Nacional keep their advantage over Concepcion, the Guaranis may get a poker.
in North : Paraguay 4/4 Uruguay 3/4 Chile 1/4 Bolivia 0/4 in South : Colombia 4/4 Ecuador 3/4 Peru 1/3 Venezuela 0/4 When I began to follow CONMEBOL competitions .... I knew Bolivia clubs are too poor for this zone. But now, Venezuela is 10th, with Bolivia, Ecuador & Peru in fight for 7th, 8th and 9th places. Ahead, Uruguay was better, but now they play a middle football (not good, but better than others) and is 6th for me. Top5 is for Argentina (which are ahead Brazil in last years), Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay & Chile
River have a tough road to the final. Their worst case scenario would probably be this. Liga de Quito Libertad Goias
At the end of the first round, we have: Paraguay = 4 (Perfect!) Colombia = 4 (Perfect!) Uruguay = 3 Ecuador = 2 Chile = 1 Peru = 1 Venezuela = 1 Bolivia = 0 Very good start for Uruguay, comparing to previous editions. Paraguay and Colombia continue their good form. Bolivia goes back to the bottom, and Venezuela & Peru almost join them there. Together with Chile, that is having a bad year in what respects clubs.

Copa Sudamericana idon't pass Copa Merconorte and Copa Mercosur .... same system, regional. Wy Conmebol protect Brazil and Argentina? teams from 4th brazilian league play in Second Round ... and teams from Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay must fight for a place one against other.
I dont undertand this point........Merconorte was a shitty tournament, very easy for colombians in all the history...before was the copa conmebol “quality“ of their leagues.
In First & Second Round, Copa Sudamericana is as Copa Merconorte and Mercosur , with North and South regions
River Plate plays now in Copa Sudamericana. Unusual to see this, since they are Copa Libertadores holders. Complicated competition to understand. Criteria for the entrance for example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_Copa_Sudamericana River Plate is in Round of 16. Some interesting clubs play here: LDU Quito, Nacional Montevideo, Goias, Tigre, U. Catolica, Libertad, Bahia, Independiente, Emelec, Lanus. River Plate will win this edition, the pattern is obvious to all of us. I have noticed one player of Croatian origins, relatively new at the scene. Youth career: U. Catolica and Real Madrid. Maybe promising player. Benjamin Kuščević Jaramillo. Anyone knows more about him? His origins are from the island of Brac in Croatia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brač https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamín_Kuscevic Marko Biskupovic Venturino is an older known player. Director of football in U. Catolica is Jose Maria Buljubasich. Federico Rasic plays for Arsenal de Sarandi.
