To be fair to umbro, at least they've tried something slightly different. Everton will wear new kit against Arsenal or Singapore XI this coming Saturday.

The new away kit is available to pre-order from evertondirect.com from 9am today and Everton One and Everton Two also from today, July 14, and will go on sale on Wednesday, July 29, both in-store and online.

Because Evertons nonsense deal with kitbag (depending on what side of the fence you sit there), you won't see this in normal sports shops around the UK.

Its a disgusting kit. Amateur hour from Umbro. We used to have kits in regular sports shops, we lost money on the deal. Some fans would rather us turn what is now a profitable Dept back to a loss again....bizarre

Bizarre is walking into some sports shops and seeing every kit available in the Premiership except Evertons. At a time that the premiership is rapidly expanding, now is the time more than ever to raise the clubs profile, especially in foreign countries. But no.....

Yes there is two strategies to it. 1.) Risk free and small profit over the immediate future but with minimum profile, especially considering that Kitbag do not promote Everton products. Even Evertons profile is low on Kitbags own website.

or 2.) Enhancing the clubs profile on the world stage, showing ambition, grasping commercial opportunities like for example Tim Howards exploits at the World cup. Thinking of the fans who want to see the shirt in stores and purchase it rather then rather than online.

The deal with Kitbag screams a lack of ambition and was short sighted.

I think people over estimate the foreign market, especially in the States. If an Everton fan from the States wants a top they can get one in 4 days by ordering from a couple of websites.
We couldn't put it in every US city, it makes no commercial sense so you are potentially left with Macy's NY (not sure they sell sportswear but you know what I mean). So kinds of defeats what you are after if you dont live in NY doesn't it
