Impact also having a club in the USLPro, FC Montreal, now makes for more meaningful playing time for those who may need it.
There will be a lot more to the Rochester rivalry now.
Outside USLPro cross league rival with Ottawa Fury is a natural.
As well scheduled friendlies between the Impact and FC Montreal

The USL teams will hopefully show off young Canadian players for future MLS clubs and for country. And hopefully the MLS allows Canadian players to be domestic players in American MLS teams. That would be an ideal situation for all the young players coming up through the academies in the NASL or MLS teams. it's all about next season for two clubs now and maybe Vancouver if this go bad.

It is unfortunate that MLS will be able to include Canadian players as Domestic players across the league. The Plus for the 3 Canadian MLS clubs having their USLPro minor league team in Canadian cities those rosters will be filled with Canadian Players from academies to turn pro earlier as well as others who may not have been in a Academy area. and stay in the country. Until now have been limited to playing on the U23 club during summers while playing University in the fall.

Nice result for the boys against England, a great test and environment for them to prepare.

Rumours are the Atiba Hutchinson is bound for West Han in January as well.

Reading the stories, they're bringing Henry on to take place of another defender who will likely be leaving them after this season, so he'll likely see a only a small amount of play time for the rest of this season, which is good, don't want to throw him straight into the fire.

Once he hits the pitch, he'll become the 10th Canadian to play in the Premiership (if you count Hoilett).

Good wins against Costa Rica and Haiti. I'd be thrilled to see us get a draw from Mexico. Panama is going to be tough too.

Big game day today. Costa Rica and Panama likely to get wins today, so if we lose to Mexico they will be level with us on points. A draw today would be big for us.

Even if not, CRC and PAN play each other in the next match while we play St. Lucia so we should still be able to hold a top three spot going into the last match.

Sweet to grab a draw against Mexico. It's actually conceivable at this point that we could win our group.

Game against Lucia should be a given. It's all down to Panama.

3-1 over St. Lucia, not a great result considering how the other teams did against them, but enough to clinch a spot for the next round. Still even possible to grab first in the group, but we need to beat Panama and Costa Rica would need to get at least a draw against Mexico.

Could finish anywhere from 1st to 3rd, 2nd place is most likely, and going up against Jamaica in the next round.

Our first loss of the tournament 1-0 to Panama. Good enough for second in the group at least. We now face Costa Rica again on Sunday to decide whether or not we go to the U17 World Cup.

Well I hope they can get the result and move on to the U17WC.

FC Montreal release its team for USL season mostly Canadians and that's awesome to see. Hope these guys will have a chance at the first team the next few years. Wonder which players will prove themselves the most?

That is great to see that the Impact's USL side is consisting of majority of Canadian Nationals. i think that was the projected goal for each of the MLS clubs in Canada. To have young national players from each of the clubs academy system, others coming University or having the ability to turn pro at a younger age as an option. Players that would have only had choices to play in PDL as a amateurs in Canada or have to leave the country to become a pro.
it was the missing gap in the development of players coming from a pool of players from these as well as the PLSQ. Making PLSQ very important to have a league at that level in Quebec Province. Top players now have a pro option at a higher level in the province. Impact organization now will/should be scouting that league more thorough for potential Talent.
It gives players a second option to go with NASL Fury. The Fury have entered a reserve side into the PLSQ as well. Essentially for the Fury to have a Canadian Domestic league within the region. They as well will solidify the the importance of the PLSQ. The Fury essentially replaced their PDL side with a higher pro level team in NASL. in turn now they have quickly filled that gap and level in the form of a reserve side from which it formaly played in PDL. There Academy players who were able to go the NCAA route will have K-W united and Forest City London in Ontario as PDL summer clubs while playing in the PDL.

Also it seems Toronto FC2 and VW2 both will have majority of Canadian players. Which is another good news to find out about but my thing is with these clubs all three clubs overall will they truly give these youngsters a chance to play and prove themselves with the first team. USL is great an all but I want and hoping to see many progress to the first team. I want to see at least six Canadian players playing on the team in the next couple of years consistently. Groom them and let them make these mistakes in USL so they can grow as a player to prove themselves in MLS and maybe if it happens somewhere in Europe. I rather MLS because I'm tired of seeing many players in Europe in low level leagues no more D3 or below leagues seriously.

Question here? with the Impact expanding into the USL with its pro minor league Montreal FC. Has this pro level side taken the place of the Impact U-23 for the 2015 season.
I ask, because I do not see them in the PDL this season and have no found any info anywhere. Whether it be a diferent league (which I can't see an MLS club having a U-23 in another league since it NYRB has made the change from NPSL)
Has the Impact entered into an agreement, partnering with a current PDL club like some MLS clubs with the latest being the Revs with PDL ( at least I think they have a working affiliate agreement ). Where the Revs staffs are officially part of the development.
Is there any info as to the status of an Impact with a PDL side that would be in place for any players in Universities keeping them connected with the impact while playing at the university level?
I had thought about that as well once that CSA did loosen the rules to allow to allow USL pro sides to be in Canada with the MLS Clubs. Just common sense to keep in line with all MLS clubs.
The answer likely to be: yes, maybe, and not really no but very unlikely.

With the yes being the home grown players, draft picks that by clubs that are Canadian Nationals, and others that may have had to go overseas to play pro at a younger age Academy or via others playing for cubs that have PDL level that were not part of a Canadian pro teams but with limited roster space to make a MLS clubs. as well as NASL players who were close to making one of the MLS clubs as tweeners with a good chance of getting a call up to the big club for various reasons.
Myabes some older players who at the time had very little options other than the pro clubs after Univeristy and PDL who went overseas where there so many more lower division clubs.
Not no but unlikely would be released lower or undrafted players. Those as well who may win a spot from Ligue1Ontario, PLSQ,

short version several PDL clubs in canada that are not of the MLS u-23 clubs.
higher profile players from team academy, NASL tweeners, and PDL clubs not part of MLS teams drafted. given much more a chance do to there high profile status. going down the line to lesser proile to unknowns winning a spot from lowest L1Ontario and PLSQ

It does seem that both NASL Clubs FCE and Ottawa Fury are continuing to Make it a point to have Canadian National Players a major focus on their rosters.

Now all three MLS clubs as well are doing the same with their USL sides.
USL right now is D3 in name only at least for the clubs that fully connected to an MLS club. Still not complete with some MLS clubs still doing the loan a handful of players thing going until they can complete the process of having their own USL club owned or co owned with their players and coaches developing the players for their Major League club.

Still not sure how it will work with independent teams playing with MLS USL sides.
MLS clubs will have their USL sides with top academy players when they turn pro and will have a full pool of drafted players that they will be able to keep and sign to their USL clubs now.

The independent clubs will not be drafting any of the top players no being part of the MLS

Will be interesting to see the transition from USL to MLS how quickly it will happen and if it does in fact happen which it should. I wonder how many players will get called up or loaned to MLS to play for the 1st team. Hope to see many of them given the chance to become future stars for each MLS club in Canada.

Caniggia Elva has gotten his Canadian citizenship... I hope he does in fact does play for Canada in the coming future and that's a young player to watch over the next few years. He is with Stuggart youth team and let us hope he is hungry player wanting to play for Canada.

Any new young players we should keep an eye on?
