I had to get this thread up early as I'm leaving for vacation in Mexico with the family on the 3rd. I won't be back until the 10th and I did not want everybody to miss out on the thread.

    WIN!!!

Gotta say, I'm thinking a win. MLS teams on cross country flights do not do well. Well, e Union dont. So, maybe a draw. But Curtin sucks, so possibly a loss.

Timbers are very hot right now. This one seems like it'll just be a matter of how much the margin will be, I think.

I'm bored picking loss every week. Though they could lose this one. But Wenger might regain his form. But SLTs Moon Over My Hammy could be tight. If Nando signs maybe a win? But Sak sucks so a loss.

I think this is winnable. Portland has been very hot and then not so hot then hot and loss. Union good day and a PTFC bad day could be a result for us.

I know Curtin is not one for change, but would it hurt to start Fabinho in place of Wenger on the left side? The form he is on, combined with Ayuk playing the LeToux role on the right could do some serious damage.

Ayuk will be out because of the red card in the Montreal game, right?

Forgot about that. Still would rather see Fabs in a starring role at MF and give Wenger a break.

The fact that this is a league game is having an overarching impact on my prediction for this game. I hope for better, though.

Fun Fact - Both times Portland has played at PPL (2011,2013) the game ended 0-0.

Portland is such an interesting team. It's very telling that they are in a good position in the table when Valeri has been hurt. They have good flexibility in their roster, being able to interchange Urruti with Adi and Fernandez is a player who can change a game off the bench. Chara is like a pit bull. Nagbe is really good with the ball going at defenders and earning free kicks (diving). They have a really good combination of technical ability and athleticism. It's a tough matchup for us, but if my math is correct, we are 7-3-1 in all competitions over a condensed schedule battling through injuries, red cards and suspensions.

Wishful thinking? It would be a great place for their USL (also wishful thinking) team though!

wishful thinking or more punishment...I am not sure.

I am pretty sure the Union loses 2-1 and more of my heard becomes black and cold.
