Attacking midfielder/winger, 17 years old. He should feature in the next U-20 competition. He was part of the U-20 team in the South American championship. Gallo didn't get a long with him, so he didn't call him up for the WC. Gerson has made a number of first time appearances for Fluminene's senior side this season.
I don't know if i'd go that far because Kenedy had a better carioca but I think Gerson has more promise. Gerson was benched last night after 45 minutes and the team looked much better without him.
What I like about him is that he seems like he understands the game and doesn't rely on pure skill all the time, which is rare for the younger standouts.
Good news! Micale will be Dunga's assistant for the Olympic games in 2016. He gained great prominence in CBF due to the campaign in the u -20 world cup . http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/esport...oes-ao-mesmo-tempo-a-partir-de-setembro.shtml
I wouldn't be opposed to it being his job as head coach at the Olympics. He should start looking for a brasileirao job instead of being an assistant but it's progress regardless.
I was hoping Dunga would step aside and let Micale assume the Olympics duties much like how Gallo was supposed to be in charge of them. The last time our senior coach became consumed with the Olympics, our senior team suffered.
I too would not mind if he was the head coach of the Olympics team but easing him as an assistant is probably the best way to go about it at the moment. Since the tournament is held in Brazil, he would be under enormous pressure as the head coach unlike the U-20 where the expectations for the team wasn't high. The Olympics will be win or bust.
He's very much different than Gallo... https://www.facebook.com/Globoesportecom/posts/10153405393915409
Our Olimpic team (u23) will face France A team in september and Micale will be the coach. Our main team will be playing in the same day and Dunga can't be there. http://extra.globo.com/esporte/cbf-...de-setembro-micale-sera-tecnico-16685881.html
For those of us in the US you can watch the Pan Am team today on ESPN2 at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific vs. Canada. It'll be a combined broadcast with other events though by the looks of it.
His performance at the U-20 world cup gives him the credibility to make these statements. I like what he had to say. I'll try to catch a few games too since I'm a fan of his and i'm curious to see how he uses erik and clayton.
