To be fair, Cuadrado often ran at Alves too, but no, I wasn't overly impressed with Luis either. That transfer never made sense to me.
I'd go with this formation and lineup vs Venezuela. All I can say is it's pretty sad that when Neymar is on a bad day, you have to pray that Alves is decent offensively to provide any chances. Having said that, I'd put him in the midfield vs Venezuela. Jeff; Fabinho, TS, Miranda, FL; Fernandinho (Casemiro), Elias, D. Alves; Coutinho, Firmino, Willian Show me some flexibility, Dunga.
I'm on high alert. I'd prefer to let a coach work despite the results, but I'm not seeing any tactics that we can build off of moving forward. I hope this is not yet another wasted cycle.
He's just going to play Douglas Costa in Neymar position and Coutinho will start from the beginning. I don't know what he'll do between Firmino and Tardelli, it is what it is. I give Firmino another shot maybe even play them together.
Miranda cut off and cleared a million balls. A lot of those could have been avoided if F. Luis was better. I guess it's good that Miranda knows him well from his Atleti days. People are blinded because Alves put two good balls in (and yes, they were the only two good balls we had). He's still a huge liability defensively and he showed that last night. That's why I'd move him into the midfield and put Fabinho at RB (who's good defensively).
WOW ... on bad game and Firmino is toast ? Damn we are fickle I still prefer him over Tardelli but let's see. At least he showed some good promise in the friendlies.
I'm not giving up on Firmino. I think he has potential to be a good player for us. Everyone has a bad game but I think Dunga might go back to Tardelli though.
If Fred starts another game in this tournament, Dunga has lost the plot. He added nothing offensively or defensively in two games.
Not sure this was directed at me? As for Miranda cutting out a lot of balls - you have your "midfield" to thank for that.
Shouldn't have been, completely separate complaints. This thread becomes awful due to the bitching about volantes
At that rate, we will have a number of different threads on the same game. And your post wasn't about Alves other than him going at someone 1v1.
He's the only one who has the balls too. And what are you talking about? No one starts new threads. This Alves stuff is making you insane man.
Your post wasn't about Alves and that's not the reason I merged it. Game discussion goes in this thread. Your post were observations made from the game. It's like that everywhere else in BS and here it's no different.
It was about the overall blaming of the volantes and the post was about Alves most likely why it was moved. And in the nads forum or Mexican forum they wouldn't have deleted it, I just think your biased on this one. It was about the game but the issue was deeper. It was about Alves because he's the only one willing to dribble besides Neymar, your bias is strong on anything with Alves.
I think it the best thing that happened to Brazil now and not later on! It is clearly that this team isn't good enough and dunga have to make real changes now before the qualification for the world cup starts!
Both of those forums have much more activity and game threads can almost be untrackable. Every other forum similar in activity does the same. Who complained about the volantes other than their fouling prior to you making that thread? If I included Alves in my lineup above, how am I being biased? I also acknowledged the chances he created last night. Willian also is willing to dribble at people. He did it vs Peru. He wasn't effective at all last night and was timid.
I think we're done. Let's face it, our Selecao without Neymar is non existant - Copa do Mundo Germany match? I know Venezuela is nothing like Germany, but Venezuela did beat Columbia. Any psychiatrist will tell you, problems outside the field will most definitely effect your game. The Spanish justice system approved one day before the Columbia match, to proceed with prosecution against Neymar, Barca and his empresario father for fraud, sonegacao, etc.. Mother Fuker!!
I will just have to wait to see how the team responds. No point in complaining now. We can beat Venezuela without Neymar but I won't be surprised if we don't get a positive result. We tied them in CA11 and they beat Colombia. If Neymar gets 2 games, then I think we are toast in the QFs if we don't finish 1st in the group. Dunga may have to try and employ some serious bunker down defense with a counter attacking strategy. Either way, the title is looking unlikely.
