It has been awhile since I have been through this board here, and I miss it. Of course, I missed out on seeing the Battery play NYRBII, but I am hoping to get down to Charleston this summer. I am overdue for a Battery jersey. So those who have one, quality shirt this year? Cheers to all of the regulars, including but not limited to @Mikey mouse and @Mister Obvious Cheers!
Hola! I like the shirt this season. they are working getting one with the 1993 on the back collar and with all the patches (usl, choice of name and number) but there has been a delay with the USL patches. Also, Kenny Hanson, SOB pres (maybe former pres) is from the Charleston area and comes here quite a bit. Im sure he would be willing to talk Battery if you ran into him at a Union tailgate or match let me know if you need a Battery hook up!
Snif, snif......hurt my wittle feelings I was feeling the virtual love, hope you can make it down to God's country sometime this summer.
I still don't understand how that goal at the 3:50 mark was waved off. The GK goes down on his own to block the shot, it squirts under him straight to Kelly who taps it in. Goal in my book. Yes, the GK did get kicked but he went in brave to block the shot and Ferguson has every right to go ahead and shoot. That's no foul. And oh by the way, USL wins 7 of 7 over NASL So hopefully the NASL folks will tone down their chest thumping...no, actually, you're not a rival to MLS, in fact, you're not even a rival to USL.
Random here... ANY chance whatsoever Battery intend to eventually go with a sewn-on crest for their jersey? I know, this has been discussed before.
i spoke to some people about it myself a while ago. main takeaway was the players prefer the iron-on style as it is more comfortable. but I would love an embroidered crest!
I could see how that would be the case... I just need to pony up and snag one, especially with the Battery set for a nice USOC run this year.
You're probably right, I admit, after looking at it for the million + 1 time, I now see that it did hit his arm. Certainly not intentional since he flubbed the shot but it did get the ball back on the ground for a 2nd poke. Sitting in E1, we were seeing it from the backside.
Just read that the collision between Ferguson and their GK also fractured the GK's jaw. Ouch. http://www.strikers.com/news/2015/05/29/meves-suffers-fractured-jaw
and they only brought the one keeper on the trip...saw their trainer signaling for a sub and their coach cojuld on;y hold up his hands
