6' GOAL! 1-0 #GUFC! Jake Keegan has opened the scoring at Eamonn Deacy Park.— Gaillimh Aontaithe 🇱🇻 (@GalwayUnitedFC) March 27, 2015 Great ball from Keegan to set Molloy away. Molloy shoots, Hunt can only palm the ball and Keegan follows it in, rifling the ball home. #GUFC— Gaillimh Aontaithe 🇱🇻 (@GalwayUnitedFC) March 27, 2015
66' Double substitution for #GUFC: Kevin Garcia and Padraic Cunningham replace Jason Molloy and Jake Keegan.— Gaillimh Aontaithe 🇱🇻 (@GalwayUnitedFC) March 27, 2015
Seamus "Jacko" MacDonagh, against Malta, right? Jesus, that's a long time ago. I thought Glenn Crowe got a competitive cap, but even he only got friendlies.
Pat Byrne in Nov '85 against Denmark. Jacko was the one before than in '83. According to Roddy Collins, the call-ups that Glen Crowe and Jason Byrne got were token inclusions to appease LOI fans. I wouldn't believe everything that comes out of his mouth, but that seems plausible.
Keegan and Garcia both start away to Shamrock Rovers tonight in Tallaght Stadium. Galway United's starting XI v @ShamrockRovers. Just under 45 minutes until kick off at Tallaght Stadium. #GUFC pic.twitter.com/dgniuiu6ok— Gaillimh Aontaithe 🇱🇻 (@GalwayUnitedFC) April 3, 2015
Jake Keegan and Kevin Garcia start this afternoon in an EA Sports Cup game against a non-league side. These games can see a bit of rotation for most clubs, but Galway have only named 6 from 7 subs, so bodies are at a premium.
Keegan starts out on the left wing and Garcia at centre-half tonight in the Connaught derby match against Sligo Rovers. Galway United's starting XI against @sligorovers at Eamonn Deacy Park this evening. #GUFC pic.twitter.com/6ANkudEERn— Gaillimh Aontaithe 🇱🇻 (@GalwayUnitedFC) April 10, 2015
Keegan and Garcia both started in a 3-2 league win over Limerick tonight. Keegan was taken down for a penalty, that was converted by Curran for the opener. Jake scored the only goal of the game tonight, at early in extra-time, to send Galway United into the semi-finals of the EA SPORTS Cup. Kevin Garcia came back in on Friday night and had an excellent game. He started today, but had to be replaced due to injury. Galway really could have done without the extratime, as they have a threadbare squad. Usually you would change it up a lot for a Monday night League Cup game, but the 3 changes they made from Friday were as many as they were able to, because of numbers. A lot of injuries. 23 man squad. A week ago, 10 of the 23 were missing when Galway went and beat Derry City away. Jake has 3 goals in 3 games also.
Moderator - could we add Garcia to this thread? Not that I'm really posting about him, though. 1-0 cup win today. Jake Keegan had the game's only goal.
