Should we ask the mods to just rename this thread as the 2015 US Open Cup? After spending about 20 minutes reading various websites and this thread, I still haven't found how PDL teams qualified......I'm guessing its somehow based on last season results since a lot of clubs haven't even started their seasons in 2015. Can someone answer that? Thanks ahead of time, I'm sure its in this thread somewhere, I just missed it.
PDL teams qualified based on the 2014 standings. All 10 of the division winners* qualified plus 9 at-large with the most points among U.S.-based teams in the league. *Austin would have qualified from PDL because they won the Mid South Division but they moved up to USL Pro. Laredo presumably got that spot but would have qualified anyway. Midland/Odessa also qualified with 24 points. Just missing out were Chicago Fire Premier and Ocean City Nor'easters with 23 points.

Battery beat Miami United 1-0. Battery with much of the possession and many chances, Miami's GK stopped 2 1v1 so as time wore on, Miami worked themselves into the game more, then a Battery red card in about the 83' made a nervous ending.
