Herzog went to Rowdies, Luz went to Carolina. Gallardo signed with Jax Armada. Not sure if they were on short or long term contracts. I hope Dennis Chin lands some where productive.

Gallardo is central to Armada's marketing right now, so I doubt he's short-term.

I was speaking of Gentile, Herzog and Da Luz's contracts, because NASL is now already over. Gallardo was signed for 2015 season and their first player.

Djorn Buchholz resigns after four months on the job, "I think this became a little more than he thought it was," says owner. (Which is strange, because he's run a DII team before.)

Amanda Duffy replaces him and will be great. She's sharp.

Odd move for Buchholz but at least they found a replacement quick.

Maybe he thought he would have a bigger staff or he forgot how much extra work there is in a start up. But I think they got a pretty good replacement. in Amanda Duffy.

I wonder how many other women GMs there have been in the USL Pro / D3? I know that previously current Chicago Red Stars GM / Alyse LaHue was the LA Blues GM for their first season. Kenn, I'm sure you can tell us what other women have been GMs.

Can't speak for him, but I can't imagine after the challenge of his time in Minnesota or getting Austin off the ground that he wouldn't have had his eyes wide open going in. The only clue is that quote that might lend credence to that. Maybe stress, don't know.

I actually don't know. We had a female owner in Indiana. The LA Fireballs had a female coach. I'm sure there have been women in management positions. Amanda's surely not the first.

She is good, though. Smart. Tough.

Louisville City FC announced two signings that will suit-up for the city’s new soccer team this upcoming season. Longtime pro Adam West, formerly with FC Edmonton of the NASL, and Sean Reynolds, formerly with FH-Ingor of Iceland’s Urvalsdield join Louisville City as defenders with a plethora of professional experience.

A former Lion finally makes it to Louisville. They signed Bryan Burke.

Looked at Slugger Field again based on the seating chart on the team website, and they're lining up down the first base line, roughly SW to NE. Looks like they're angling for dimensions in the 110x70yd vicinity. Not bad for the situation. Coopers will be in the SW goal.

I may or may not be planning a road trip. It'll most likely be in July.

Reading the Irish midfielders stats makes it look like he should be a forward. Sure, he played D2 college soccer, but these stats are crazy: 15 goals and added 10 assists in just 18 games as a junior. 11 goals, 18 Assists, 17 games as a senior. Hopefully this guy turns out to be a hidden gem for Louisville

Q: Why no Louisville City FC USL subforum?

A: This thread is in the main list of the USL Forum. However this team does not have its own team subforum. The reason it does not is that BigSoccer doesn't simply create them, we want posters to request them and tell us they would post in it. If we can get a good group of regular posters willing to use a team subforum, we will create one. No one has requested this for your club yet or if you have not enough people have supported it.

If you are interested in changing this, go here and start a thread to request a subforum or support a already started thread:
    http://forums.bigsoccer.com/forums/forum-requests-and-voting.666/

Let me know if you have questions.

For those of you looking to follow along, LCFC has been playing the nearby colleges for pre-season. So far they've beaten Indiana and Louisville and had a 0-0 draw with Kentucky (they did thoroughly dominate that game though).

    UK highlights: http://louisvillecityfc.com/highlights-kentucky-0-louisville-city-fc-0/

Highlights are from the team website, hoping to see more sophisticated camera work when they move on to the pro schedule.

A 5-0 win against NAIA school Lindsey-Wilson last night:

Poor game, LCFC wasn't challenged much. Most of their chances came from defensive blunders from the college side. Next up on the pre-season schedule is a game with the NASL's Indy Eleven. This should be a more interesting test.

Louisville City opens the season with a 2-0 win over fellow expansion team St. Louis.

The crowd at Slugger Field was pretty good, the field looked like it was in decent shape for a non-permanent service.

All in all, a successful start to the club's first season!

Watched some of the live stream, very impressed with the amount of people in the Coopers section. Feel like the 40 degree temp kept attendance down some, but looked nice, even the field layout in the stadium was pretty good too.

The team itself really impressed me, had some really good passes and possession, and that second goal was a sweet cracker of a shot.

One problem: The announcers. My word, those two had no idea what they were talking about. 'The team is still looking to get it's set on offense,' 'I'm surprised at the amount of people here since it's basketball season, and this is basketball country.' Those two were so bad I stopped watching the broadcast. It was terrible

I have been a soccer fan for about 3 years, but this was my first live game. Had a great time, even my wife enjoyed it.

LCFC looked great, the front office obviously wanted first and foremost to put a winning product on the field to keep the interest going.

We will be going back often to support pro soccer. I think it is funny to see that many of the supporters feel we have a legit shot at MLS. We have a LONG way to go to even crack the conversation. I feel we have to blow this thing out of the water in all areas to begin to get in that conversation.

I'd like to hope Wayne Estopinal, who started as a minority owner with Orlando City, would put the right people in the right positions to make it happen.

Midfielder Charlie Adams, who overcame a quad injury to net a goal in the first-year franchise's season opener last weekend, is already a fourth-year professional. The Englishman, by the way, is just 20 years old.
Adams signed to train full-time with his original club, Brentford, at age 15 and turned professional at 17. He hasn't attended class in the past five years, instead working toward what he hopes is a lengthy career.

Any thoughts on your upcoming Open Cup match against Lansing United?
