http://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-soccers-expansion-boom-1424797284?tesla=y Aztex owner Rene van de Zande has similar goals. “In the next three to five years, we expect there will be more opportunities” to enter MLS, he said. “Our mission is to be ready for that.”
Tyrpak unfortunately waived by San Jose. Austin return? http://m.sjearthquakes.com/news/earthquakes-sign-paulo-renato
Tyrpak also played in the second of two preseason friendlies yesterday. He could be a great addition to the squad.
Crew fan here... Where does your roster stand? What are the holes that might need filled? Has there been any mention as to when Crew will send some players down to you?
Here's the current roster. Don't know about Crew players. But we could probably look at the current Crew roster and compare to the lineup last week and get a starting guess.
Looks like you just signed Koroma too. But where are the holes in the roster? I only recognize a few of the names on your roster. Opinions have been bantered among Crew faithful as to who we think might be sent down but are unsure. Of particular interest is young HG signing Ben Swanson. He's still in high school so thinking is he will stay in Columbus. But many would like to see him get real game minutes in Austin. I've seen a few MLS teams make announcements over last few days so hopefully some news from Crew shortly.
And you guys get Tony Rocha back... thought he'd play in OKC after Sporting KC drafted him. http://austinaztex.com/2015/03/09/tony-rocha-returns-to-austin-aztex/
Rocha has been with us since the ATX challenge. And we now have 18 signed players. I'm hoping for at least one more announcement soon. Plus four from the crew TBD- most likely from the 20-28 spots on their roster. I'd rather the Crew loans be with the team now. Four preseason games in 8 days, the team is getting closer to a starting 11.
http://www.dispatch.com/content/blogs/covering-the-crew/2015/03/austin-notebook.html Crew SC will be loaning one player to USL affiliate Austin this season. The paperwork is being finalized, but coach Gregg Berhalter today said rookie defender Kalen Ryden will be the lone Crew representative on the Aztex roster – for now.
From what I heard, SA didn't have their team together. They were playing mostly trialists. But, yeah, it was nice.

http://austinaztex.com/150908-campbell/ Campbell is slated to report to Austin this week upon his return from international duty with Jamaica. Crew SC retain the option to recall Campbell at any point while on loan. Crew SC selected Campbell with the 19th pick in the first round in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. The 6’4″ defender from Clarendon, Jamaica, played collegiately at the University of Connecticut, where he captured the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award and was named to the American Athletic Conference All-First Team for the second consecutive season. Campbell is the fourth player to be loaned to Austin as part of the affiliation agreement announced with Crew SC November 2014.
