I am a big fan fo Brazil and I agree with 1- teams that are better than Brazil in squad Germany Argentina France Spain (arguably Netherlands and Columbia) 2- Team could beat Brazil (even with lesser squad): Chile, Mexico, Belgium,
Croatia got robbed, should have been 2-2 possibly 2-1. Brazil's stupid penalty wasn't one. Croatia had a perfectly good goal disallowed by perisic. 2-2 at least. Also before the 3rd Brazilian goal there was a clear foul that wasn't called. Also all three of the brazilian goals were the goalkeepers fault, and now Croatia have a new and better goal keeper. Italy were a great team but the coach ruined it. Prandelli told them to rely on certain players and he played with different formations. He also left a lot of amazing players at home. Now we have Conte who is much smarter and stricter and makes us push hard. We also have new players as well. Italy were also controversially robbed against Uruguay but not too serious. The World Cup is past, now the teams are quite different. This Italy & Croatia that you see in the Euro Qualifiers are superior to the Brazil we have now.
First the team win and you said they were lucky, while your team lost becuase unlucky (or bad coach and bad GK LOL) ? same old weak defense Lastly: For your info, since last WC1982, Italy NEVER win a game vs Brazil (at least up to 2013) Since last decade, Croatia NEVER win a single game to Brazil
Yeah Cazorla is a great talent but he'll never be handed the "reigns" to any Spanish selection. As for the rest of those players, yeah some are world class but they are getting old. I feel as if Spain needs that younger generation (Jese, Deulofeu) to start getting integrated soon.
Surprised with the overwhelmingly response of Spain bouncing back quicker. People tend to forget that they made the SF sure they got humiliated but they still made it. Sure it was a home but they were not bad other then those two last performances. Sure they didn't play beautifully but they are far from crisis mode. It's just shocked me that they couldn't find better forwards then Fred or Hulk in all of Brazil that was the best attack they could come up with Wtf Spain crashed and burn because VDB didn't want to transition to his very talented and capable youth and played the old guard way too long. You could see they were old in the tooth in the Confed Cup yet he insisted with starting the same lineup for his opener. Spain will be alright they have an embarrassment of young talent.
I think some of the explanation behind your first sentence is contained in the rest of your post. As you say, Spain has a lot of young talent and (perhaps more importantly, in terms of bouncing back quickly) lots of talented players in their prime right now. If there was a world cup in 2015, Spain would have the players to be among the 4-5 favorites to win it, its just an issue of tweaking a couple of things. Brasil's problems run deeper. Their weaknesses are more glaring and there is not much that can be done about them right now (as you point out: Fred/Hulk - forwards you'd expect to see on a team like Slovakia, not Brazil). Even a 2018 deadline to fix those problems seems tight.
