Believe it or not, after a while people do miss home. Spanish has a word specific for the "attachment toward a place in which you were born, or spent an important part of your youth, hence bringing forth happy memories": querencia. I remember a study reporting that the majority of people dies quite close to the place where they were born, even if they had been all over the globe in the interim.

I like the way he did it -- go to a smaller league's big team where you're expected to win every week, entrench yourself there, and come home with a bunch of trophies.
