I was thinking Adu coming with the scorps would be beneficial to both back when I heard he was out of contract. It seems that Adu thinks he is too talented to play in certain leagues. Hell, I am pretty sure he'd even refuse to sign with MLS as a non-DP. This ********er needs to realize he needs playing time, and signing with the scorps, I am pretty sure he'd get plenty of it. However, if that's his attitude, ******** em.
Had a great time back with @SJEarthquakes but it's time to head back to @SAScorpions for the fall season! pic.twitter.com/ngKv41gZmY— David Bingham (@BinghamDb) July 16, 2014
Okay so...... David Bingham is coming back. Daryl Sattler signed with the Scorpions two weeks ago. Scorpions signed former Galaxy keeper Josh Saunders today. Jeremy Vuolo has been here. That's four keepers for the next 18 games....... Gonna be a lot of changes coming up...
Is Shaun Saiko still injured? I thought he had subbed into the previous game or maybe the one before that but didn't see him on the roster list for the Rowdies game.
No, he is back from injury. He may have stayed behind to work on his fitness? He was out for a good bit of the first half of the season, not sure if his fitness is on issue. Although he has been game ready for a while now. This is just me speculating.
Could have used him today. I'm liking Saunders less and less each game. He will be eaten alive in MLS with NYCFC.
He had 53 appearances from 2009-2012 with the Galaxy.... Only had 3 for Salt Lake within one year.... And an abysmal performance against a last place Edmonton team. Unacceptable if the Scorpions want to be put in the same category as Minnesota and New York. Minnesota will eat Edmonton alive next week.
Wow wow look who came out of his/her hiding place. DB can be counted to come and post when the Scorpions lose, yet when they win. Silence. That said I think this Saunders experiment has to be over. But Bingham in and lets go for the title. That said, the Scorpions played a stinker, and the Eddies are tough at home.
True. The Scorpions were off today. The worst performance this part of the season, maybe the entire season. No shots on goal really, not counting the blown offside call. I also agree, get Bingham back in on Saturday.
I agree, no more Saunders, we need Bingham back in there. Anyone know why he didn't travel with the team? I hear the Scorpions couldn't secure visas for Tomasz and Rafa, which is why they didn't make the trip.
New York ? The team that hasn't bothered with the 2nd half of the season thus far ? The one we opened with a win against ? That New York ? The one that has 4pts from 4 matches and even with a win in their game in hand is still 5pts back ? Why did you bother posting again ?
Scorpions have let go Shaun Saiko... Am I missing something here? Also, I'm not seeing Barerra on the roster anymore. I've read he's gone too. This leaves the Scorpions with an official count of 16 outfield players. What the hell is going on?
http://the11.ca/2014/08/05/numbers-game-san-antonio-terminates-the-contract-of-canadian-shaun-saiko/ According to that article, we have traded Danny Barrera for Cesar Elizondo. However, to make room for international Elizondo, we needed to let of one of our internationals, which ended up being Saiko. Lame, canadian players should count as domestic. I believe american players are domestic even with FC Edmonton and Ottawa.
"In USL-PRO, Canadians and Americans are treated as domestics. In the NASL and MLS, Canadians are treated as domestics on the rosters of the Canadian teams, while Americans are domestics on both Canadian and U.S.-based teams. So, in NASL, a Canadian player is a domestic if he plays for Edmonton or Ottawa, but it is an international if he plays in an American city. But, an American player has protected “domestic” status no matter if he plays in Edmonton or San Antonio." found that from the link. very interesting Wow that sucks to lose Saiko over something it seems like the NASL can change. That way all teams are playing on a level playing field. Unless teams from Canada have to have X number of Canadian's on the team. But if USL-PRO can have the same rules, I think the NASL should address this in the offseason.
Got to visit San Antonio again and finally see Toyota Field. This is a big time stadium and I instantly got that feeling when I walked into the stadium that San Antonio is a big time franchise and I can see why fans would want to come here and support their team and keep coming back. Not the best of games this evening, even with going up 2-0 in the first half and despite the straight red to start off the 2nd half, but I was more about seeing the stadium, fans and atmosphere here in San Antonio. I can only hope the Cosmos can get a stadium built like this and San Diego can get a team and a stadium as well.
The Cosmos are finishing up the 2014 season in San Antonio, November 1. Might have to fly back to Toyota field for this one, Something tells me it will be sold out.
http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/teams/cosmos2.php?article_id=39921 Cosmos continued to bulk up and remake their roster on Monday. ...signed former Scorpions midfielder Walter Restrepo, a NASL Best XI selection.
