Rowdies Add Midfielder Saragosa The Tampa Bay Rowdies added a bit of Brazilian flair and strength to their midfield Tuesday with the addition of veteran midfielder Marcelo Saragosa, pending USSF international clearance. Saragosa, 33, arrives with nine years of Major League Soccer experience, including winning both MLS Cup and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2005 with the LA Galaxy. He is a natural holding midfielder who will help control the tempo of matches, breaking up opposition play and engineering the Rowdies transition game. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/1x0zyrnckxhhp19n6dlv01x6v6/rowdies-add-midfielder-saragosa
Bummer that sanflippo was let go...and then 2 weeks later we get a 33 yr old MF. With a new coaching staff come changes, I get it...but hes [Frankie] still pretty good for his age. I also assume Yamada is gone too. Bummer. Man was a class act and Rowdies HOF in my opinion. I can rant on his legacy later. Glad that Savage was kept and the other Hill is gone.
Fudge...Sanflippo went to FTL? Oh, man. They get the Coastal Cup and our former captain. Battle line are drawn! I don't know what to expect from Rongen, his team and his tactics, but we MUST WIN our games against Ft. Lauderdale. I can't believe I just typed that, but I want the Coastal Cup back in Tampa Bay.
Maicon Santos is a good signing IMO, he did not have good luck here in Chicago, but he seem to be a player with good moves. On paper the Rowdies are looking pretty good.

http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/l0ltwpng1y3c1jx6r0ekc82bn/rowdies-ink-midfielder-justin-chavez The Tampa Bay Rowdies added another talented midfielder to the roster on Thursday, with the signing of Justin Chavez ahead of the 2015 season. Chavez, 24, made his professional debut in 2013 with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, the club for which he played the last two seasons. He made 27 appearances (15 starts) in his time with the Strikers.
Average age for the Rowdies 2015 roster now is 27. We'll see if Rongen can work his magic. I am optimistic.
Thought I saw Etienne Barbara's name mentioned in Tampa's win over MLS's Philly Union the other day on twitter-is he back with the team this year?
Well I am not sure what the asterisk means, but unless this is a different Barbara, he is with the Rowdies. Rowdies (4-3-3) GK Glodack*; D King, Yamada*, Agbossoumonde, Portillos*; M Chavez, Nuñez, Savage; F Shriver, Barbara*, Hertzog— Rowdies Gameday (@RowdiesGameday) February 12, 2015

"Some fans noticed Blake Wagner’s absence from the travel roster for Portugal. The club quietly released Wagner after it became apparent that he was unable to overcome a severe lack of fitness." http://theunsubs.com/wp/2015/03/10/rongen-happy-with-progress-in-portugal-more-rowdies-notes/

It's not a concern but it is, besides the 3 to 5 tall guys we have on our roster; We really are a shorter team than in years past.
