Now that we have Brazilian ownership, with a really big name Brazilian owner, any possibility we will be able sign any big name players, Like the Cosmos seem to like doing. How about Ronaldinho......word is he is about to get booted out at his current club in Mexico. South Florida is Brazilian friendly!
Thus far the new owners have pissed off the Striker faithful by allowing a highly respected head coach, and a very good possible replacement, plus at least 2 key players leave. Usually by seemingly being inept at contract negotiations. They seem to have forgotten all the nice things they said about the team's future before the 2014 season ended and they took over the club. They've done this without ever saying anything official to kill any of the many angry rumors concerning their intentions. They have said that the Strikers are not going to be a Brazilian farm team, but an 'American' team. Sounds good. We'll see.
To my knowledge, the only announcement regarding a player returning for 2015 has been Shawn Chin. As Antique said above, Strikers faithful are none to pleased by what we've seen, along with the silence from the new FO. It seems they were much more engaged in securing a Brazilian team to come train here for a few days and sign Ronaldo up to be a part owner than they were in actually getting to the business of trying to operate and move forward with a club that was one goal away from a championship last year. That's not the kind of professional club you normally seen stripped clean down to the bone, unless it is very overpaid. One thing Strikers fans down here can absolutely assure you of is that NO ONE associated with the organization last year, or any other year since the rebrand, has been even fairly paid, let alone overpaid. Traffic was a penny pincher of the worst kind, operating on a philosophy of the less we spend, the less we'll lose. These new guys claim to be something altogether different. Early results don't show it to be true, but we'll have to wait and see. So far they might just be bad at trying to negotiate and/or operate the player/coach side of a club. Maybe we'll get some answers when Mr. Bertani joins the Tailgate Show boys Thursday night at 7 PM. I know I'll be interested to hear what he has to say publicly for the first time about all that's gone on this offseason.
Ex-Red Bull Borrajo signs with Strikers http://www.bigapplesoccer.com/leagues/nasl2.php?article_id=39841
a Anderson was signed by the RailHawks...The way things are going I think they plan to rely heavily on Corinthians' loans.
Rafael Bertani said there would be 2 players loaned by Corinthians. One is said to be on the Brazilian u20s. We'll see.
“It's a great honor to put pen to paper on a deal for the RailHawks. They have shown a lot of interest in me and is always nice to know you’re wanted,” said Mark Anderson. It was this line from Sparky that killed me... inferred that the Strikers didn't "want" him. These owners are doing a bang up job so far...
Announced signing keeper Joe Nasco today. Finally a step in the right direction.... Word is to expect a few more announcements soon. Sounds nice, but I have heard that before....
I notice the same thing in his comment. Anderson is one of the best in the league, consistently. I don't know why the Strikers would not re-sign him, no matter who they are bringing in to the club.
Checked the team site today. We have seven players currently and have jettisoned the core of a championship-contending team, along with our beloved Gunter. Boy, I'm real excited for 2015. ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have to agree with you completely. I would add that this is how I feel about the other players they have just let go to any other team. They had some good players and now it's like Ft. Lauderdale is an expansion team - starting all over from scratch. How many people in FTL wish this group had purchased Phoenix from the USL a few years ago instead?

He made 27 appearances (15 starts) in his time with the Strikers. “With the signing of Chavez, we have more bite to our midfield,” said Rowdies head coach Thomas Rongen. “He is also a versatile young player who gives us depth on our roster.” In his time with Fort Lauderdale, Chavez also played center back, giving the Rowdies additional roster flexibility. http://www.nasl.com/article/uuid/13...ine-with-signing-of-fabian-kling#.VN5h4rDF_Yk The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed German defender Fabian Kling. Kling, 27, arrives in Fort Lauderdale following experience in Germany with FV Illertissen and TSV Rain am Lech and in the United States with San Antonio Scorpions.
13 days until our first game (pre season) with Jacksonville and the Strikers, literally, barely have a team. 15 names on the roster as of today. The nice thing about low expectations is that there is a lot of room to be pleasantly surprised.
