    final= Mexico vs Costa Rica.
3rd place = nads vs catrachos

I'd love for the final to be at the Rose Bowl (or even Stubhub) so I can attend again.

Eh, they probably still will. The Caribbean Championship does produce some odds results from time to time so they could end up facing a team like Jamaica and be in a little bit of trouble but most likely they'll face a team on the level of Martinique which I imagine they'd be able to get through.

Once they're in the tourney with their full squad, it'd be a pretty big upset if they failed to make the knockout rounds and a semi final appearance isn't really a reach beyond that.

I'm really excited for this gold cup, i think it will probably the best one yet. consider the teams:

-USA have, under klinsy, had decent results and grown in popularity. They have have home field advantage
-Mexico seem to have Vela back, and they just beat the Netherlands (who had most of their stars) 3-2 IN AMSTERDAM
-Costa Rica's performances in the 2013 Hex and 2014 World Cup were the best ever by a central american side, they should have the confidence that they can win this gold cup
-Panama beat the US in the '11 cup (in the us) to reach the semis, they beat Mexico twice in the '13 cup to reach the final, and then there was their heartbreaking last-minute elimination from world cup qualification which has got to have their blood boiling.
-The Rest. Guatemala, T&T. Honduras and Jamaica will probably be there as well. perhaps the fact that this tournament serves as qualification for the Copa America will help bring out the best in these teams

No question this will be the most competitive Gold Cup of all time. Assuming Honduras gets through, you can't pick 12 better teams in terms of history, fan interest and talent. All the teams who have qualified have progressed to the QF round before. It will be interesting to see the roster selections, because with what's on the line in this cup, there will be no easy groups.

Any word on when a schedule for this tournament may be announced? I'm kind of surprised to go looking for it today and see nothing whatsoever available. Don't people plan these things way in advance?

I would think CONCACAF would need to decide on the stadiums before making the schedule.

yeah, I'd think that might go hand in hand. I'm really surprised that so few details are available at this point.

For the last Gold Cup the venues were announced January 23, 2013 and the schedule was announced on March 13, 2013. With the playoff between Honduras and French Guiana the announcements could come later this time.

Well if it is this shitty tournament again. Maybe it would suck less if it was done every 4 years like every decent NT competition in the world but w/e. Who has the most pressure to win the Confed Cup ticket? Obvious answer would be Mexico because Mexico is the most important team in the region, but you have to wonder what would happen if the US misses their second Confed Cup in a row, not a good look and something that has never happened before.

which would mean that the USA would have to lose the 2015 Gold Cup, then lose the (USA -v- 2015 winner) playoff.

Mexico's cities are Chicago - Phoenix - Charlotte? (That's a weird travel schedule, BTW). Wouldn't Group B (Los Angeles - Houston - Toronto) give them at least two matches with decent followings?

They should draw well in all three cities especially Chicago and Phoenix.

When I lived in Charlotte, more than ten years ago, there were large neighborhoods with more than half the signs in Spanish. That city had a huge building boom around the turn of the century that brought lots of latino families in on construction jobs. I imagine it's still a large community and I'm sure Mexico will have a great following there.

I wonder if this means that the ATL knockout round match will be with Mexico. I am planning on taking my kids and soccer teams to the match. I would love the US in ATL.

So, for those of you saying that this tournament should be played outside of the US every once in a while: it looks like even UNCAF has become addicted, as they're considering keeping the Copa Centroamericana in the US for the next edition. The only problem being that finding available FIFA dates is going to be a lot more difficult in 2016...
