I said a few weeks ago, Rogers makes so much sense as a January camp invite that I'm guessing Klinsmann will go with Tierney, and I'm not exactly joking, either.

Rogers was one of Klinsmann's first projects, if not the first. I'd be kind of surprised if he doesn't get another look at some point.

Wonder goal? You mean his failed cross attempt that hit the bar?

I like bunbury and I am an advocate for him to be called up, but that was not a shot.

I dunno he looked right at the goal. You can see him pick his head up from the camera in the goal replay.

Great ending to a legendary career for the best ever player from the USA.

And Donovan gets the finish his career deserves. Good on him, I'm glad, and they were the deserving, better team. Now I'm never rooting for the Galaxy again... ;)

Kind of a joke that Keane gets the Final MVP award, though, despite the goal. I'd have given it to Sarvas.

So does MVP just go to whoever scores the winning goal or does it go to the best player of the game? Keane was the worst player on the pitch.

Him or Zardes. Both had very good games.

What a poorly played match; it was good of Twellman to mention this. Rogers, Zardes, Bunbury acquited themselves decently though. The two Brazlian mids were ace.

Nguyen should have been awarded the pk.

I don't root for any specific MLS team, so I just watch a random game or two per week. So, it's not like I see the same guys week-in, week-out. With that caveat...

    1. Zardes looked good when he moved out wide. I don't know that he has the touch or quick decision making to play more centrally up front at the international level, but if you get him some space on the outside, he looks very dangerous.

    2. I'm not sure about Bunbury. He might be worth a look, but I remain unimpressed with his touch and vision.

    3. Tierney was pretty good defending and going forward, although he did screw up the line to keep Keane onside. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Rogers in January, given the lack of quality depth at LB for the US.

    4. Rowe seems to have really taken a step backward this year. He really didn't impose himself on the game, and they really needed that once Nguyen was injured.

Ban New England from MLS Cup. That was 95% unwatchable.

I'd have rather watched Seattle just play LA again. That was atrocious, boring crap until about the 75th minute.

Both teams were awful. NE just more so. No tempo. Poor touches all over.

I was watching in a bar and many tried to get the channel changed. Only reason they didn't is because four tables committed to buying two more pitchers of beer each. My wife was whining that a this is how I wanted to spend our Sunday afternoon.

Farrell has a serious weakness when put under duress. He needs to find himself a technical trainer and hit it hard in the offseason Larry Bird style. (Larry was legendary for working on his weaknesses in the off season, including spending a whole summer playing only with his left)

I understand the nerves and sloppy play. It's also one of the reasons I would like to see the final be a 2 legged affair instead of a home advantage. It makes no sense to me to handicap the final in this way. Teams, especially away, will come out looking to avoid mistakes instead of playing the game.

Once Nguyen pulled up, it was pretty much over for NE offensively. Everything goes thru him somehow. Heaps needs to look for a good destroyer in the offseason to finish off the midfield and let Jones be more free.

Okugo was just dealt by the Union to Orlando City. Can he leave for Europe still? Or was it a sign and trade?

The Union also acquired CJ Sapong today.

I believe they also declined the option on Connor Casey as well. They have to be getting a new striker, and CJ must be like the 3rd option at least.

If all else fails, maybe they'll just sign another keeper.
