I think the funny thing about this clip is if you look at the kids Pulisic is passing to, they have no ability to trap his passes. Sometimes I think kids like this stand out so much because the players around them are so bad with there basic footwork. Clearly, he's mastered the skills of the pull back, the step over and others, but most kids who are willing to work and struggle will do the same. It's just that in this country, most kids would rather shoot on goal or be the goalie so they can use their hands instead of working on technique in their back yard all afternoon. That is one of the most frustrating things about parenting or coaching kids at this level. Once they get to the U-14 level, most of the kids that are playing are kids that love the game, so they are self motivators. Most, if not all of the kids at U-8 and below are there because their parents signed them up, not from a love of the sport.

Wow, you are cynical. Nowhere in my post did I say he stinks. I think you can find a bunch of kids who look like Christian against other U-8's that don't go on to become the player that he is today. He is clearly one of our best youth players right now for sure. My point was that a lot of times you can find guys that stand out, not because they are destined to be stars, but because of general lack of any technical skill in those around them.

I love watching the U-17's play. I'm excited to see how he and Haji develop over the next few years.

It just seemed odd that you chose a player that's proven to be quality at this young stage to then make a comment on those really young players who's teammates are so bad it makes them incorrectly look good. Just seemed to be the wrong context to make a point like that when your example doesn't fit your argument. Round hole, square peg.

Got it, agreed, probably not the right player to make that corollary.
BTW, just noticed you are a Rochesterian. I was born and raised there. Not a McQuaid grad as well?

Kevin Silva also, but yeah, those two look like two of our better prospects in recent years.

Looks like he still hasn't officially signed with BVB. So, not sure if he's still waiting for his passport?

I believe if he doesn't sign by the end of the month, he'll be ineligible to play in league matches the remainder of the season.

You're referring to German youth league matches, right?

    Yes.

I believe the registration periods in Germany are basically the same as the two transfer windows.

Looks like he still hasn't received his Croatian passport.

I didn't like the list either.

Pulisic, Wright, Flores, CCV, Steffen, Rubin, EPB, Silva, Acosta and Zelalem would be my top ten in no particular order.

Interesting, Akale isn't a player I've seen much so I don't want to add him since I've yet to get a good grip on where he's at and what his potential is. The rest I've seen play five times or more.

So, this means that Christian can get his Croatian passport and finalize his deal with Dortmund, right?
