I tried my best to wait for all attendance figures to come in from Matchday 1, three are still missing. Montreal - 15,115 Toluca - 5,000 San Miguelito - 3,000 L.A. It seems sort of pointless to keep up with any sort of statistical analysis when half of the attendance numbers aren't even reported. Unless that changes, I won't be doing any weekly updates, which is unfortunate. By all means, however, feel free to discuss attendance in this thread.
Yes their webpage change really sucks, hopefully we can get updates in the future, I will make sure I post here if I find any numbers.
Well, this is sad. I (perhaps inappropriately, but I don't think so) have always used attendance as a key indicator of how well a league is doing. If CONCACAF can't bother to get that information for one of their major tournaments, it doesn't bode well to me. Which is really disappointing. I enjoy this tournament.
It looks like the all-time record will be broken this season at Azteca!! what say you @ArsenalMetro ?
sweet bro, I think Azteca Stadium is the only home stadium of a club in this edition of the CCL bigger than 56,0000 capacity? The only chance to break the all time record will be there, i think
I wouldn't expect them to break it, or come close. They only drew 20,000 for a deciding group match last year, and didn't release the attendance figures for their other home match. If they made the final and played one of the other Mexican teams, then maybe they would crack 40,000.
The highest announced attendance for any CCL final match is 33,667 by Monterrey in 2013. America hasn't shown anything to suggest that they can do 23,000 better than that. They could in theory, but there's really nothing to support that.
43,000 at Azteca last night.....good enough for 3rd place all time attendance. 38,104 in Montreal.....good enough for 4th place.
