A Southern California high school has retired a controversial Arab mascot.

The bearded, snarling mascot with a large hooked nose who wears a head scarf did not appear at Coachella Valley High School's season opening football game on Friday. A belly-dancing genie that often appears with the mascot during halftime was also retired.

They refused to make the nickname change, tho. They don't do that, they may as well keep the disrespectful image- it all leads to the same place. And I was gonna say keep the belly dancer (crosses several cultures), but HS girls don't need to be doing that.

They should just change their name to the Arabians and make the mascot an Arabian horse.

My co-worker's 13 year old daughter asked him last night if she could get a stripper's pole. Talk among the junior h igh girls is that it's good exercise.

    Crazy.

Even more so that she felt comfy even asking her father.
