If Rincon wants to be a coach he should coach a 1st division Colombian team after returning from Brazil and see how he does. We dont have the luxury of an automatic qualification like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and the US have. Even with a great coach and great players its still just a 50/50 chance of us qualifing

The guy had a serious car accident but luckily he suffers from broken bones and not something more dangerous. Hopefully he'll get better soon. FUERZA COLOSO!!

I like rincon. The colombian media portrays him as a villain or anti colombia when some of his points are true. I hope he gets the job .Also a lot of colombians lack respect to one of the legends of colombian football in my opinion.

He is the polar opposite of el Pibe who is super optimistic and says shit players like G10 and Macnelly are the future to be nice and it's what the media wants to hear.

Rincon just hates to hate. He said we wouldn't qualify then do well at the WC.
Both are annoying and I feel they secretly want to be the best Colombia team ever. Too late on that one tho

What do most Colombians feel about this?

I feel like this team can really give 90s Colombia a run for its money, both in individual talent and in team performance.

Deff, no argument there; I was just messing with him because he loves to talk so much sh**it about the 90's team so just for the sake of annoying him I made that coment.

I don't know how people in Colombia feels though; it feels almost as the people don't even want to make the comparison, but like I said I don't know because I'm not in Colombia.

My personal take is that is unfair to make the comparison because despite comparing teams the coach played a crucial part in this team success, while Bolillo/Maturana were actually the weak link of the 90's team.
Also the 90's team had to deal with external threats and a divided country while this team enjoyed a totally opposite enviroment of harmony and unity.

So I think is unfair to make that comparisong when you have external factors affecting the performance of the team.

The 90's team blazed the trail, but the current squad has surpassed them in terms of performance as an NT (furthest in history with crazy goal differential) and individually (James and Falcao are the most decorated Colombian players of all time and neither is 30).

El Pibe probably MEANS more to Colombian soccer than anyone ever will - but in terms of accomplishments, the past WC just tipped the scale.

Yeah, that's kinda how I feel as well.

The 90s teams were more "colorful" with Asprilla's crazy talent and antics and Valderrama and Higuita, and the 5-0 shocker against Argentina. But at the same time I feel like if we took a time machine and took today's team back and played the 90s team, they'd beat them.

One other HUGE difference. This team still has at least one world cup if not two to CONTINUE to write history so time will tell.
