This tournament is just trolling us with these names. Mate and Mckinze are Christian's and Orrin's middle names.

I don't think it's intentional at all. Whoever is in charge of this stuff doesn't understand United Statesian naming traditions and doesn't speak great English, either (see translation of "En Busca Del Talento" at the bottom of that graphic).

I've just realised that I've got a couple of USA U16 games in my posession. Does anyone know if Pulisic played in one of those games? (I really hate the ussoccer.com site, sorry).

    Turkey - USA 1:2
    Scotland - USA 1:1
    Norway - USA 2:5
    France - USA 1:2
    (all played in January 2014)

edit: Ah, found the game reports.

Little late to the party, but what do you feel is wrong with that translation? To me, someone a Spanish education major (not a native speaker), that seems a correct, or as close to correct, translation. Generally curious what you see wrong. (not to side track the talk here)

Just a guess: in English it would be correct as "in search of" rather than "In search for". The construction "en busca de" translates to "in search of" in English. Source: also graduated as a Spanish major.

You're not the only one. The homepage is pretty good with updated information, but once you get a couple pages in, there is so much outdated information, it's scary.

It's a classic example of a redesign making things so much worse. But, pretty pictures!!

That's the one! Does anyone know if there will be any streams available for the US-Colombia match tomorrow morning? It looks like the start time will be 11:06am eastern, 8:06am pacific. I'd really like to be able to see this group play! Very exciting squad to watch develop, so much potential.

Highlights vs China w/all of Pulisic's goals. He's okay at free kicks.

Edit: @Werdman89 beat me to it. I'd just like to add that Pulisic scored goals at :40, 2:05, 2:25

    Snip:

With a long-term contract in play (five years) and a European passport in his already-ragged travel bag once the paperwork is finalized — his grandfather, Mate Pulisic, is a Croatian native who eventually emigrated to the United States so Christian is attempting to obtain a Croatian passport — the youthful Pulisic will begin crafting yet another crisp diagonal run or sliding a through ball behind a defense or corkscrewing an unsuspecting defender into the ground.

    ...

And while his father will be alongside as Pulisic begins the daunting climb through the professional ranks — Mark Pulisic has relocated to Dortmund, where he'll live and work — his mother, Kelley, and older siblings will be here in the States.

    ...

"We've had other opportunities when Christian was a little bit younger, like 13, 14, but now we feel Christian's ready," adds Mark Pulisic, referring to his talented son's training experiences in England (Chelsea), Portugal (Porto), Spain (Barcelona) and the Netherlands (PSV Eindhoven).
Going to stop with the snips there. Read the article -- it's pretty extensive, so reward the publication for doing the work on your behalf.

Pulisic will wind up being a bigger contributor to the USMNT than Green and Zelalem

A 5-year contract is huge, and shows how serious BVB is about him.

He also scored again today in the U17's shootout win over Colombia, scored in regulation and scored in the shootout.

Glad we're no longer placing premature pressure on our youth players a la Freddy Adu.
