I don't think that you all have the perspective to know what to expect.

New poster to this thread, so forgive me if this has been brought up...

But how ironic would it be for Ghana to knock the US out of the WC for the third tournament in a row? The first two times they beat the US in our final game (2006 in Group play, and 2010 in the round of 16)...this time they could actually advance with a win tomorrow and a US loss - and even though we beat them in the opening game...they could knock us out again...

Sorry - I'm a regular over on the LFC pages...I just find it interesting that, with all of the analysis and counter-analysis, nobody that I have heard has brought this up...

But yeah - maybe I should keep my mouth shut - or just keep cheering for the USA!!!

It would be a shame if US make it to the next round bunkering 2/3 games

At least they go out and play. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose to the Netherlands, but they won't sit 11 behind the ball for 88 minutes

So you put no stock in the fact that after conceding a goal they were able to score 4 minutes later? And Ghana didn't have another chance after that. Circumstances made them have to adjust that game. And they got the points.

And I think the Mexico - holland game will be a better game than many suggest. I don't share the bitterness of the rivalry that you do.

Congrats to Germany for winning the group and for the US for advancing to the second round. Be interesting to see who the US ends up playing next.

The US were unlucky to not end up with 6 or 7 points coming out of the group stage. Whatever - didn't finish a game and didn't execute.

Mexico meanwhile is just lucky to even make the finals.

I know, let's keep pretending that all groups have the same difficulty and advancing is the same difficulty for everyone. Mexico would finish last in group G. smdh

Forgot the bit where Mexico was in Group G.

Blah blah blah needless bitching blah blah blah. Honduras went three and out and still beat Mexico at the Azteca.

Apparently that the US saved a terrible Mexican team has left you bitter enough to post in a thread that has jack shit to do with your own team to thank us in your own special way.

    A terrible team that:

    1. OWNS Mexico on the field even though this is mexico's golden generation
    2. made it as far as mexico did
    3. is higher ranked than Mexico
    4. possesses something Mexico will never have: a fighting spirit
    5. scored a last second goal to allow Mexico to finish 4th(!) in concacaf
    6. has a rising talent pool

I predict that over the next 12 years:

    - we will consistently get points while playing in Azteca
    - we will make it to the R8 (and beyond) round of the WC
    - mexico will miss the world cup at least once
    - mexico will not make R8 at any point
    - the US will eventually lose one game at home which will give Mexico great (but false) hope
