I gotcha homey. "No Loan After All Green wants to accelerate under Guardiola Awesome World Cup debut that nevertheless ended up falling short, Julian Green brought attention upon himself at the World Cup and now wants to accelerate his career with Bayern's first team. It could have been so beautiful. U.S. Coach Jürgen Klinsmann went for broke and brought in Bayern's youngster Julian Green. Immediately after being brought in, the wide midfielder made good on the gamble by getting a goal back and thus rejuvenating the team. With that dreamy goal, the U.S. team got a second wind. Green brought momentum to the match, displaying a few spectacular displays. After 120 intense minutes, however, he and his team nevertheless departed from the match with a loss. And with that, Green and the U.S. fell from the tournament at Pão de Açúcar. The 19-year old will now depart for a well deserved vacation. And afterwards? He has a contract at Bayern Munich until the end of June 2017. This past season, he was a key player with the Regionalliga where he scored 14 goals in 22 matches. Under Pep Guardiola, he took part in a Champions League encounter at CSKA Moskow even though he'd only had a scant sniff at any professional experience. That equated to a seat on the bench during the previous Bundesliga season. In a way, it's hardly conceivable that a World Cup participant and USMNT player could be playing in the Regionalliga next season. After recently acquiring some information, it appears that Green won't spend the upcoming season playing for Bayern's second team as expected after all. He'll get back and push for his chance with the first team and stick his foot in. Since the first of January Green has had a professional contract. Then, in consultation with team management, Green embarked on mission "Promotion to the 3.Bundesliga" with Bayern II as "Goal Scorer." He missed the end of the promotion campaign, however, due to injury suffered while on duty with the U.S. Although Erik ten Hag's has the primary objective of becoming the champions of the Regionalliga and achieve promotion during the upcoming season, the Dutch coach has to resign himself to likely doing so without the services of the USMNT player. Claims for Green have likely escalated in the past few weeks. "It's been fun watching him grow," said Klinsmann in praise of his protégé after the World Cup. Therefore, the U.S. trainer will have particular interest in seeing Green take the next steps in his development. It's the former Bundesliga trainer's expectation to see the "exciting young players of the future" be poised to create a storm at the 2018 World Cup. Although it's been common practice of Bayern to do so, there are no current plans to loan Green out. This has been the path of several other prominent players such as Philip Lahm (VfB Stuttgart), Toni Kroos (Bayer Leverkusen), and David Alaba (1899 Hoffenheim). The breakthrough for several starters came elsewhere. Those players became superstars before making their way to FC Bayern. Indeed, Pep appears to be fixated on diamonds in the rough, who he can mold into the player he wants. Green wants to take his chances and compete with others for his place on the team. The chances don't appear to be too bad, though. Mario Mandzukic appears for all intents and purposes to be leaving the club. With that, the Spaniard only has two other strikers in Lewandowski and Pizzaro to choose from. A role as Ribéry's backup could also be in the realm of possibilities. His back problems caused the Frenchman to go several matches without playing at the best of his abilities. With Green, the speedy wingster could develop and grow to be his replacement for the future. Up first, however, is the official start date of the duo-champs on July 9th. Green more than likely won't be in camp, but instead enjoying his World Cup vacation."
I wish he'd go out on loan personally. I view his situation similarly to that of Gerard Deulofeu's last season. He's really benefit at a club where he could into the team regularly.
If Pep wants him, let him stay at Bayern. He'll have an All-Star cast to practice with and against. If/when they decide to have him loaned out, it just can be to a better team.
Could be BM talking up his chances a bit in order to up the transfer fee, but of all the possibilities, getting a game here and there with Bayern Munich is without a doubt what I would like for him. I don't think people realize just how much SAF liked Jonathan Spector when Spector asked for a transfer in order to get more playing time. Who knows if his career would have been different had he accepted the part-time role Fergie planned for him in 2006-07, but I can't help but think when one of the world's top managers rates you, it is in your best interest to not go chasing minutes elsewhere.
Yeah, Delofeu's situation at Everton would be a nice one to recreate for Julian. I don't know if he has the same level of talent as that kid was stunningly good for his age. This would seem to be the year though that he needs to break into some sort of regular time for a senior team to continue his upward mobility. Wonder where he'll get it.
Details are a bit fuzzy after all this time but I heard from very well-placed sources that Fergie was disappointed that Spector wanted out in 2006. Fergie rated him as one of the club's top young talents and wanted to keep him on the books. It's hard to say what might have been, but I have often wondered what would have happened had Spector not made the decision to leave when he did.
Gotta give him some credit for venturing out to find a starting spot rather than ride the bench at United collecting a great paycheck and occasional appearances to qualify for a medal or 2 each season.
True, but much of his motivation to go to Charlton and then West Ham was based upon getting opportunities with the USMNT. Unfortunately, our lack of depth sometimes means that kids who should be worrying about developing in the right club setting are making huge decisions based upon the hope of getting capped by the senior national team.
Really? He has been struggling for time at several not so great teams and you think he would have got the time at ManU that would have developed him into the top player we all thought (hoped) he would be??? Don't think so. Spector is too slow for a top-level outside back, not physical enough for a center back (at least in the EPL) and not skilled enough for a midfielder. A true tweener if ever there was one. The only thing that might have changed his career might have been if he played in a league where center backs are not judged solely on their ability to clear long, high balls.
I didn't know Sir Alex had a bigsoccer profile. The reason specs lost some of his elite potential was because of his hip injury. He lost a lot of mobility and agility because of it. That's why he lost effectiveness at FB
I don't think they see Green as a left wingback. They look at him as one of the top 3 in a 4-3-3. More of an attacker than a midfielder.
I think with Spector it was injury more than anything else. Didn't he break a hip at some point? At any rate, he seemed to lose a lot of lateral quickness after some injury or another.
Off rumor rites, Liverpool is the favorite there (since Alexis Sanchez is probably going to Arsenal). IIRC, it wasn't a break but a joint problem. But I actually think he played well in midfield with more than enough skill for the central spot.
