Real difference was Özil and Klose which allowed Kroos to come deeper and control match. Then directness of Podolski but having Götze, Özil, and Klose on at same time, impossible to track the way they switched places.

Not too much to read in this match aside from early 4-3-3 shape that looked positive.

Now let's hope best for Reus.

He is old so that's obvious. But he still have some juice in him that can help the team in critical moments in the game just like what he did today

Klose is by far the best finisher.

Then sadly the second is Podolski

Both are still the best executors of this team.

Schuerrle's goal was nice, but his finishing isn't reliable. And Mueller plays too much on the flank

Yepp, play the opponents until they're tired after 70 minutes. throw Poldi and Klose in to finish the job. We need to use the variability and depth we have.

4-3-3 was ok. But none could finish up top.

Someone like Klose or Podolski makes a difference

Nah. Lahm needs to play in midfield. We saw that today. Schweinsteiger still doesn't look 100% and we can't risk starting him. Boateng looked as good as he can at fb.

We will go in with Boateng and Höwedes at fullback with Lahm and Khedira in midfield. Rightfully so.

We are better with Klose playing. He makes everyone better but he can't last 90 mins. I don't like Schurle and Mueller in at the same time. We need an on form Ozil. Besides Klose, he is the only player than can unlock defenses. Otherwise it is fruitless passing that get us now where. Poldi is in form and up for it. He deserves to start. Great 2nd half. Ist half could not have been any worse.

Hope Reus is all right but it doesn't look good.

    Poldi is direct

Schuerrle I thought was very active up top. Need to work on his finishing, couldve scored two more if his finishing is better. That header especially

Klose, Poldi/ Gotze from the second unit change the style of our attack

Still think a more direct approach is the way to go against weaker opponent

Why would you bench our best CM? Kroos controlled today once again the midfield and played a lot of good passes from a deep position while Khedira was mainly useless (no wonder our game improved once he was replaced with someone who actually knew what to do when goin forward) and Lahm kinda invisible in our buildup play.
If anything someone should be played next to Kroos who will do the dirty work for Kroos/Özil and thus allow those players to use their strengths.

    The midfield is messed up

I have no idea who should start given the logjam. Looks like Podolski is needed

Maybe Podolski on the left and Reus(if ok) up top?

    --------------Lahm----Kroos
    --Mueller-Schweini--Oezil--Reus/Poldi

    4-6-0?

Don't know about that. We have to remember the pattern with him. Always does well against poor opposition but rarely against the tougher teams. Also, his strength is his directness. He has space against Armenia. Other teams won't allow it and are physically strong and fast. I would still use him off bench.

    Without Reus:

    -Neuer-
    -Lahm-Boateng-Hummels-Durm-
    -Khedira-Kroos-
    -Muller-Oezil-Schurle-
    -Poldi-

    Klose, Goetze and Schweini subs...

Poldi made all the difference for me. He's been pretty essentially in these last two friendlies. How this'll translate in big matches against tougher teams is beyond me.

The only good thing about this draw is that we should know fairly quickly what this team's chances really are.

I'm praying that the Reus issue is nothing. Jesus.

I think our best line up against Portugal supposing Reus is out.

    -------------------------Neuer
    Boateng----Mertesacker----Hummels---Höwedes

    ------------------Lahm-----Khedira
    --------------------------Kroos

    -------Özil----------Müller--------Schürrle

Podolski, Schwenisteiger, Klose, and Götze to come on depending on circumstance.

Never mind that Boateng got smoked by Choupo-Moting and Durm was one of the best performers against Cameroon.

But hey, it's SirM. You'll take any opportunity (such as a warm up against a weakened, lowly Armenia) to push Lahm in midfield or any of your other favorites in the XI. Very predictable.

Well, if it'll make you feel better, he doesn't actually get to pick the starting 11. Right?

That's only relevant if Germany are still in the match after 70mins. Start both Poldi & Klose and pull them when they tire. But I know Loew will find some way to screw that up.

Okay. Then you do trust personalities like Götze, Draxler or Schürrle as a sub to turn a game around?
