Honda with 1 goal and 2 assist over Cuadrado with 11 goals and 4 assists???

Forgot about him my bad. I'd definitely switch Honda out, even though Honda is usually much better for his NT than club form.

Cuadrado is key for us too; and I understand that NT performance has to be taken into consideration; that's why I didnt brought the Adrian Ramos into the striker argument because he is not used in our NT

I fully agree with Vancity Eagle except for Seydou Doumbia as the best striker. Possibly one of the Colombian fullbacks ahead of Nagatomo.

    Cote d'Ivoire 6
    Colombia 3
    Japan 1
    Greece 1

yeah I personally would choose Zuniga as a LB over Nagatomo, but I don't want to sound biased as Zuniga just came from an Injury, so I don't know at what current lvl he is.

Doumbia numbers in terms of goals for the NT are 2 in 20 games, Teofilo Gutierrez has 5 goals in WC Qualifiers playing as support striker, because Falcao is the main focus. Jackson would be the best bet for Lone striker because he is the top goalscorer in Portugal and in the NT he has 8 goals in 26 appearances; now you could argue that these guys are not used in our NT; but is hard when you have to fight for a spot against a guy like Falcao and Teofilo who tactically serves Falcao perfectly.

Personally I would go with Honda he scored 5 goals in 6 games for Qualifiers. Those are good numbers and a mid composed with Cuadrado + Gervihno in the Wings plus Yaya + James behind is much better than what Japan could bring.

    Lacina Traore - 4 in 7, Wilfried Bony 8 in 24...
Its the same with Cote d'Ivoire - Drogba has been the striker for so long that Bony, Traore and Doumbia have only played bit part roles for the national teams. Doumbia may have only 2 in 20, but most of those games he played like 10-20 minutes.

If we were to choose the most prolific striker for his national team it would be Drogba as undisputed no 1.

I'm dissapointed, especially for the Colombian here. Mario Yepes is the best defender for the NT, Cristian Zapata hasn't started as many games and his clean sheet ratio is worse.

Well like you said about Yepes being 'above' Zapata despite Zapata getting more attention; likely because he plays for AC Milan despite his form in the national team.

well zapata besides that brain fart during the argentina game that gave him a red card played fairly well against paraguay in the wcq and the two friendlies against belgium and holland..but yeah Yepes has performed we'll in a lot of our wcq games..off the top of my head i remember the game vs Argentina and ecuador. I think zapata --yepes could work or Yepes--carlos V.

This group is very light on good central defenders. There is Sokratis and then whoever. Zapata is a mediocre defender as is Yepes, but they both seem a tad better than alternatives.

Well Colombia may bring the talented Eder Balanta; he's pretty talented but again, this is only if we get a chance to see him work on the CB position. Yet, our coach wanted to try him on the Left/Right sides instead of the center. If he uses him in the Center, we can possibly say that he's better than Yepes as a CB entirely for Colombia.

Please replace Zapata with Yepes; he's not as good as people expect at the moment. Especially with Colombia.

Can kind of agree on your 1st sentence but to call Yepes mediocre is ridiculous. The guy at 37 is still pretty much a starter in Serie A. Call him old. Call him slow. But mediocre for a man with his career sheet is just play dumb.
