This thread is dedicated for the Copa Libertadores...

Is anyone watching Ind. del Valle? They are playing really well even though they are losing. I'm really rooting for them to at least tie this game. Love how this team plays.

Boo! Ind. del Valle deserved to at least tie. They played awesome. Better than other "bigger" clubs from Ecuador (cough... BSC and D. Quito ....cough)

Those two teams aren't in the Libertadores so no need to bring them up. We aren't in the Libertadores so we have no room to talk either...just let them be.

Lol just speaking the truth. They either get killed or don't even show up and gets eliminated right away.

Anyways... Emelec. What a disappointment. That defense is so poor. Achilier let that guy center it and Guagua let the guy head the ball for goal. They are so bad.

Edit: Lastra is ashameful you're Ecuadorian. What a nasty foul. GTFO.

Achilier is the worst defender I've seen. Take that stupid smirk of your face dumbass after you got called for a penalty. You suck Achilier.

So what's the deal, his performances are beginning to get patchy. Does he hold the call-up for the next NT friendly? His form is definitely worrisome since our defense is thin enough as it is.

Wow... Emelec... SMH... Yeah... Nice job making us look good internationally... I guess they like to settle for national cups only

That goal was a joke man. I can't even begin to explain what happened on that play. Now we have to beat Bolivar in La Paz. They're no push over either. They gave us a hard time when they played us in Guayaquil and I believe they beat Leon and Flamengo. We'll see what happens. Our defense is seriously slacking smh

It's not just Emelec but the league as a whole is bad right now. Chiriboga is ruining the league. Still, Emelec is truly the best team in Ecuador so it's very disappointing to see them play like poop.

At least USA is playing real good right now against Mexico haha.

The level of play in the Ecuadorean league has been sub par up to this point. The teams have to get their act together and operate responsibly on a fiscal level. A lot of the teams are saddled with dept and not surprisingly that has a negative impact in a lot of ways. Teams like BSC and Dep. Quito should really look at and pick up on Independiente's model. They don't find themselves in 2nd place and playing Libertadores by accident. They know what they're doing. Whether they keep it up as they move forward is another story. I've said this before teams should allocate their resources into player development. Doing so in not a small investment in any stretch of the imagination but if you do it right, you'll see the rewards.

I can't believe Ind. Del Valle got eliminated =( today they made a big fan out of me. What a way to play. Other teams should learn from Ind. They deserved the qualification and I hope they win the Ecuadorian league this year.

It was a very tough elimination for Ind. They had it in the bag too...they just couldn't hold on. It was a very fun game to watch. It sucks they didn't go on to the next round. Sornoza and Gonzales should find themselves playing in Europe soon. Those sons of guns can play.

I was particularly impressed with Daniel Angulo though. The dude's got talent. He can hold the ball up very well. His passing game is solid and as an added bonus, he's strong in the air. All traits you would want to see in a prototypical 9. Hopefully Rueda gives him a look.

Agreed 100% with all of your points.
Ind is a team that is slowly building that credibility and doing things the right way. They'll be back soon. They are a solid enough team with a very deep youth division to pick talent from. Maybe the best cantera in Ecuador at the moment?

I can see Gonzalez in Europe not too far from now if he doesn't a big injury or lowers his performance level. Sornoza le falta. I don't see him in Europe yet. Definitely in the Mexican league as an important player though. He needs to build up more and contribute more when it comes to marking opponents. There's certain games where I notice he doesn't show up but I can see that there's potential in him to play in Europe at a later point in his career. Right now he could probably do well in a smaller league like the Eredivise, Portuguese or Turkish leagues. Hopefully he continues developing.

Daniel Angulo is very good at holding the ball. Great number 9 that's strong with good ball control, he can hold the ball well, he's good in the air and is great at positioning himself. He plays very well by himself even when Sornoza isn't behind him. Too bad he developed a bit late kind of like Narciso. If he had displayed this quality when he was 23 or younger we'd have ourselves a great striker with a bright future. I think he's 28 now so this is just about as good as he will get. He needs to get more goals under his name for him to enter his racha and I'm sure he will stand out this season. He just needs that moment. Too old for the NT though.

Daniel Angulo is in the history books as being the first in libertadores history to score four goals as a visitor including a hat trick (one with his right foot, one with his left and a header)

Rueda should consider him as a back up in the NT

El Nacional. What a horrible game. I thought they might make it to the next round but no. You had home advantage. The team almost didn't make it to the game. Still manage to lose lol. Man, Liga's reign might never be beat with Ecuadorian teams choking hard every year. They celebrate national championships like it was the greatest thing in the world then they get killed internationally lol.

Independiente vs Olimpia is a nerve wrecking game. Very open game but IDV doing more of the defending in the second half.

Azcona gifted us the goal that's giving IDV the clasificación

Looks like Ecuadorian league will be extremely poor year again like last year. Every team pretty much sucks. At least last year Idv did something but this year just seems even worse overall. Just extremely crappy league again.

Repetto sucks. He needs to go. How do you acquired that much talent and not be able to win at all (in Libertadores or in the league!)?

PS. Who ever the RB is for Liga, has to be one of the worst RB I’ve seen. Dude sucks.
