But Mexico still qualified, which is the point of WCQ. They played like a team that knew that you can qualify out of this region while still shitting the bed (pardon the language). And that's exactly what happened, they qualified while dropping a deuce on the Posturepedi.

If only 1 spot was available, would Chepo have stayed as long as he did? Would Mexican wingers have made failed cross after failed cross to the middle? We simply do not know, and that's why it's inconclusive that any 1 C'CAF team, of the remaining 4, is the best right now. After the WC, we will have a better idea.

But the U.S. still won the Gold Cup, which is the point of the Gold Cup. They played like a team that knew that you can win the Gold Cup in 2013 while still shitting the bed (pardon the language) in 2011. And that's exactly what happened, they won the Gold Cup while dropping the hammer on Mexico.

Funny how you won't apply your own arguments for the World Cup to the Gold Cup. Maybe because you're a troll?

It's not the same argument. We already discussed the 2013 GC, which gives a 1/2 a berth to the CC. Which is why it isn't a clincher to prove who is the best. The 2015 playoff for the CC berth will determine the best team at that point.

And it was Panama that dropped the hammer, btw, but w/e.

It's not the same argument. We already discussed the 2013 WCQ, which gives a 1/2 a berth to the WC.

Again, why is the Gold Cup any different troll?

Because the GC 1/2 berth is still a 1/2 berth, whereas Mexico's 1/2 WC berth is now a full WC berth. This was already explained.

If the 2013 GC yielded a full CC berth, then the winner of it would have proven to be the best team. But since it didn't, teams didn't take it as seriously as the 2011 edition.

So because Mexico played a weak team from another confederation they retain the title as the top team in this confederation, despite the fact that in the same year they lost to a team in this confederation in the most recent confederation championship and were forced to play that weak team from another confederation due to finishing (way) behind that team that beat them in World Cup Qualifying.

Uh huh, that's some logic you've got there troll.

I always thought Mexico was better because the USAs best players are having to tuck tail and take the walk of shame back to MLS to make a living, while the great and awesome Chicharito is sitting bench at ManU.;)

They retain the title because neither the 2013 GC or WCQ so far has decided the undisputed best. Don't single out the NZ tie or Panama losses, they don't supercede the big picture.

I haven't seen any pundit declare that there's a new king of CONCACAF. Mexico is still hanging on to the throne by its fingertips like this:

The big picture is that if it weren't for the US, Mexico wouldn't be in the 2014 World Cup.

Let's say CONCACAF got 2.5 spots and USA didn't exist. Here is how many points in the Hexagonal Mexico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Panama, and Honduras got against each other:

    Costa Rica 15
    Honduras 12
    Mexico 10
    Panama 8
    Jamaica 5

Mexico would have been in the interconfederational playoff that way also.

Actually, Mexico would have done better without the nads in the hex. So you're wrong.

But they still clinched a WC spot, so they retain the title of CONCACAF king for now.

Trolling is saying that a team that denied Mexico of 5 points is the reason why they clinched a WC spot. That's absolutely ridiculous

    @JasonMa
Not ironic at all, I didn't claim to see the future after Mexico lost. I know anything can happen.

But the point stands that Mexico hasn't been knocked off its throne. I never said Mexico is the best team of the region, It's inconclusive as to who is. But since Mex won the last test that determined the undisputed best (2011 GC), it is still on the throne, although barely.
