You're comparing a countries top 15-20 players at any given time to leagues of 100s of players. That's an apples to oranges comparison. The only reason that Brazil doesn't win every World Cup is that teams are limited to 23 players. If teams dressed 23 players, and were forced to dress a completely different 23 for every game, Brazil would sweep to the championship. Comparing the progress of national teams to the progress of leagues is just as nonsensical.
It is still fruit. Or soccer. It is not as nonsensical as saying something will never happen. Nor as strange as moving the goalposts to claim that what was really meant was that some flipped result/reality is only temporary.
Yeah, both teams qualified, the top spot hasn't been taken. Like in 2010, the rapids had a low seed from their qualifying stage, but that didn't mean they were worse than the top seed. They proved otherwise in the playoffs.
The point was that I am sure (some) El Tri fans believed or "knew" that the USMNT would always play second fiddle. Until the last decade and a half or so happened. When someone, in response to the idea or suggestion of MLS (eventually) overtaking Liga MX, says... ...I just think that is nonsense, as things always change.
It's the confederation championship that gives a Conf Cup ticket. It defines the top dog until the WC. The one that gives the Conf Cup ticket, as opposed to the one that didn't. Considering Mexican culture still thrives in that area, and is only increasing... not much was taken at all. A prediction isn't nonsensical until it is wrong, so tab5g was off-base there.
Your data is, not surprisingly, out of date. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ners-will-play-one-match-2017-confederations- Both Gold Cup champions (assuming they aren't the same team) in each 4 year cycle will playoff for the Confederations Cup ticket. So I ask again, Main Gold Cup? Because it looks like Mexico missed a chance for automatic qualification to the playoff in 2013, so now the pressure is on them in the 2015 edition while for the U.S. they can qualify for the Confederation Cup directly and bypass the playoff with a win.
LOL...yeah, you keep telling yourself that. I guess history is something you only look at with an incredibly skewed viewpoint. No...that didn't matter much in the history of the two countries and their evolution. LOL. Classic and pathetic even beyond trolling. Mentally you are clearly very weak and feel inferior if that's your response. Yup....California looks like Mexico more than any other state. Incredibly corrupt, inept, criminal, debt ridden, and a huge drag on the whole USA at this point. It's a FN mess. It does look like Mexico. Got me....I just got real sad thinking about the embarrassing state of California. You win.
I know of the new rule. But the 2013 GC doesn't trump the 2011 edition, because the 2013 GC only earns half a spot. ^^^Is a post like this allowed in N&A? I'll respond to this in another subforum, but I'm pretty sure this discussion you're starting here is strictly off-limits in N&A. And you just revealed a lot about yourself by bringing up something that has nothing to do with football. Huge chip on your shoulder.
lolololol, you keep telling yourself that. Combined with the WC qualification results anyone who suggests that Mexico is better than the U.S. right now is a homer who's lying to himself to avoid facing the truth of the situation. Somehow the results of two tournaments last year are worth less than 1 tournament 3 years ago? Laughable.
Those 2 tournaments didn't eliminate Mexico from the overall goal of each. Mexico is still alive for the next Confederations Cup, and the upcoming World Cup. It is inconclusive that they are no longer the best. If another C'Caf team does better at the World Cup, then it will be official. It's like if SKC this year bombs in the USOC, then barely qualifies for the playoffs. They can still have the last laugh if they win the league title, and say that they are still the best, regardless of the road in between.
Uruguay is the best team in South America, I mean they are the defending Copa America Champions and finished higher than all other S.A. teams in South Africa. So what if they finish 5th every single WC qualification.
