Hahahah! Well I always played as a defender (CB) when I was playing in a team, always loved the position! Your job was basically to prevent the ball to get past you, btw slidetackles? best thing in football ever!... back to topic, and if the opponent gets injured by your awesome clearence? Well bad luck for him. And when I watch football on TV, I always have my attention more at the defenders then let's say the forwards. I'm extra happy when my team managed to hold the 0 because that means u got 1 point for sure, if u manage to score a goal then it's even better 'cause u get 3 point. I mean what's the point in having a great attack when your defense is Kupus liga level #ACMilan? Basically I'm trying to say that defenders nowadays are so underrated 'cause people only care about who scored the most goals, obvious case: Ballon d'or, and don't really appreciate the defenders.
Pretty much the same thing but depending on the game(if one our boys is involved) I sometimes end up watching certain players' movement. Played defense my whole life(lacked finishing(HORRIBLE AT FINISHING)in front of net otherwise I would been a striker lol). Usually CB. Sometimes RB or CDM. Loved playing defense. Fell in love right away. Slide tackles are the best. Winning a clean 50/50 is a wonderful feeling. Intercepting a pass on the ground is fun because it makes you look like a psychic. But lots of pressure involved. One misstep and it could be bad. Usually liked playing deeper(sweeperish) than the other CB and hated offsides traps(TOO risky). Also liked passing out of the back. Defenders are definitely underrated and seem to be a dying breed in some countries. Everyone wants to be Messi, CR7, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo9, Beckham, etc. I wanted to be Maldini, Cannavaro, Baresi, Zannetti, etc
COM/RW - That's life. I once played deep CM (Schweinsteiger edition) and I can tell you I improved a lot in just one match on that position.
I also enjoyed seeing a guy shut down a high caliber offensive player. To me thats more impressive than anything else(other than majority of GKs saves)
Because they're the best players. lol Naturally, everyone will like them. I love Ozil, because (imo) he's the best mid in the world and I love midfielders. Just love his style of play. Ronaldo because he's a boss and has that swagger about him (not swag, swagger) and Suarez is the definition of in form.
like all the other comments, Schweinsteiger is my all time fav. Next to Leo Messi, i followed his career since his arrival at Barca i knew he was going to be something special. 1 B.Schweinsteiger 2 L. Messi 3 A. Robben
you're the first Bayern fan i know that wishes we never left that stadium. It was of of the worst for commentators both German and foreign due to the useless track. As a football club you don't need a track at all it takes away from the atmosphere and views of the game, the Allianz Arena is far better imo in terms of atmosphere and the way it looks. Yes the Olympic stadium did have some great memories but in spectating terms it wasn't the best.
yes see what happend to our sudkurve. they destryoed the ultras culture by making modern staidum like AA.
My favorite non-Bosnian players that i have enjoyed watching would have to be Ronaldinho- When i was growing up i based my real life play style on him, always tried to use skill moves in games even if i lost the ball alot of the times. Unfortunately after his good days with barca he lost his motivation and wasnt as good for ac milan and his career went downward from there. David villa- He was such a clinical shooter and was always in the right spot. Ballack - Was a boss in the midfield i mostly watched him in the german national team and bayer leverkusen days. Puyol - probably my favorite defender was on the shorter side but i also liked his hair.
Zlatan. Best player in the world of this generation in the men's division. Messi and Ronaldo are good but they're both in the sissy division and that's a separate category.
