What was that exactly? A futsal event with Ji So-Yun as guest star?

Meanwhile any official news about her Chelsea transfer?

I'm not sure of their best members well, but there are many familiar names on the starting list.
The scorer is the captain, Sugita.
Takahashi Chiho is not there maybe because she already graduated.

Well... I think this kind of reaction is quite understandable, isn't it ?
Yes, Yoko Tanaka is a real talented player, no doubt... But, what has she proven so far out of an excellent U20 WC ? She is not yet a regular starter in her team. She can become an important player — she is talented enough for this — but the blogs, forums, tumbr etc crazy coverage seems to me totally disproportionate with the current reality of the girl's current achievements. And I don't think either that it can help her for improving...
So, more than pure jealousy from other girls, maybe it is just a feeling of fair unfairness... ;)

I think those Wada's tweets are a proof that Wada and TanaYo are still close friend. They were a dorm-mates since 13 years old but from a certain point, Yoko suddenly became a popular. I think Wada thinks like "it's something wrong" half-seriously.

Anyway, Wada is funny girl, she can treat that kind of "unfairness" as a joke. I like her self-ill-treat-ish humor sense.:)

    Yeah, I agree.
I guess this is some kind of expression of Naoko's affection.

That is good to know. The language barrier makes it tough to understand the inteicacies of all this...

I'm late on, but I'm honestly glad that all these players are leaving INAC. I think its healthy when dynasties to end, ya know? By knocking INAC back a few pegs, maybe the league will open up an interesting title race. I mean, I think it says a lot when the relegation fight was the most interesting thing towards the end of the year. As cool as that situation was, it's kind of pathetic in a competitive sense. Maybe next season the other teams will be reinvigorated and be a bit more even. Even if I do pull for Beleza to win, in general it would be great to see someone else, anybody else, take the crown, ya know?

You're not late to live the end of the 2013 thread with us! :) We are close guys!

I said multiple times that I am not an anti-INAC at all, on the contrary I so love many players of this dream team and for sure I don't want it to drop down Urawa's style... But i admit that a little more balance on the league wouldn't be bad.
I underline that, towards the end of the season, we were very close to this kind of balance: The fact that INAC won 4 titles gives the idea that they totally dominated, but in fact they lost vs Belle and Beleza in the League and they went to penalty shootout vs Albirex in Empress' Cup. In fact it looks like they were already "beatable" this season, despite their record in the first part of the year...

We're going to see... For sure I want more balance in the league but, at the same time, I wouldn't like INAC to be weakened too much: it still has to be an epic battle, although more even!

For some reason I cannot quote and comment using a mobile devise... Strange...

I agree with Kitty, it will level the field a bit and hopefully makes for a more interesting season.
More than just one or two games will be interesting - unless, of course, we will see total Belle domination now.

The Niigata game was indeed interesting and I wonder if INAC was not only tired at the end of the season, but also suffering mentally because they were aware of the changes to come.

Not that I want to belittle the great game we have seen and Albirex hard work to get there...
I just think the spirit if the team might have suffered with the big changes that are coming. Or maybe I am looking at it the wrong way and change should be a chance to pull the team together one more time...?
But then, I am not a psychologist...

Not sure if you noticed the video posted by Moukoko called "2013 fine goals", with a selection of goals from this season's Nadeshiko League, apparently showed for the first time during 2013 Nadeshiko League Awards' ceremony.
Some of the goals in this video were indeed superb, while other looked to me so-so (at least for being chosen to appear in such a video). And some others were surely missing.

This reminds me of the fact that I had promised to you to post the results of the weekly selections from posters of this forum. As I told you, it's really hard to remember every goal but, after all, if you don't remember a goal it can't be goal-of-the-season for sure! ;) I admit the following list can look quite boring, if you can't remember the actual goals; if you need it, I guess Moukoko/Girafferunfast still has all of the Monthly Digest videos up, or you can ask him for the link for them (if you are one of the Giraffe's authorized users and you don't remember one particular link, you can ask me in a private message). I'm going to post the lists anyway, since I made the effort to write them down.

If you want, each of you can try to choose goal-of-the-season from these (or also from other not-listed goals, if your personal goal-of-the-season happens to be missing from these lists :p). It could be a nice way to end 2013 and to close this thread. Tomorrow, I am going to open "Official 2014 Nadeshiko Japan Thread", on the "Japan" forum, as we somehow agreed, by majority, and I'll include in the title of the thread the version in Japanese. :giggle:

First disclaimer: mumf, I already know that you'll want to vote Yuka Kado's goal, but try at least to think about the other choices, before going with a blind Belle's vote!

Second disclaimer: I am going to break this post in 3 parts (1st leg of Nadeshiko League, Nadeshiko League Cup, 2nd leg of Nadeshiko League) or I've got the feeling it would be too much long); the winner-goal from each week is underlined.

18th and last matchday was mostly missing from November's Monthly Digest, and December's Digest was dedicated to Mobcast Cup, so we basically never had a chance to vote goals from 18th matchday. Since we even couldn't watch all of them, I guess it's not worth adding a vote for that matchday so late (also, consider that the only consistent voters for all of the season were me and BtR). Obvioulsy, feel free to choose a goal from that matchday as the goal-of-the-season, if you remember it and see it as particularly memorable.

It was a charity match. That kiss was a goal celebration they planned out beforehand. It was also her first kiss from a guy. That was slap at the end was not because she was mad. They were just playing around. As for the Chelsea transfer, we might hear news around early January.

Very off topic... Colo Colo won yesterday the Chilean First Division for seventh consecutive time (there is two champions in a year). They defeated Santiago Wanderers in the away match 2-0 (Guerrero and Claudia Soto) and 3-0 in the home match (Lara (p), Banini and Ascanio).

    Video

PD. Just to be in topic, I need to know where Kawasumi will play the next year to know if I must prepare my resume in English, in Japanese or in Catalán :D

Yes, that was her. She's around 30 I think, so I wouldn't be surprised if she retired, but didn't she say last year that she wanted to be promoted to Nadeshiko League with Ehime? So maybe she'll sign with a Nadeshiko League club for another year or two. She's a great player, someone should pick her up.

There was a great goal early this year (I think) from Mizushima that started with Miyama dropping between the centre-backs to receive the ball. I don't see Mizushima in the list, so did that goal not get any votes at all? Or was it from last year? I'm not sure...

Anyway, I vote Wada's corner kick, obviously. But that other goal was awesome, too.

If I remember well, the Mizushima's goal that you described happened in season 2012 (or anyway there was one very similar to the one you described). For sure it didn't happen this season: I am not sure if you noticed the scorers' rankings for all of the 2013 season, that I posted here earlier this week (or better: I posted the abridged version, and then Gromit06 was so kind to make a caption of my whole file and post it); well, Mizushima didn't score any goal in 2013. Or better: she did score but in the wrong goal (I hadn't included own-goals in those scorers' rankings, but, if I am not wrong, she scored one, in a match vs JEF probably).

So, Mizushima isn't eligible. :giggle: I'll take Wada as your vote.

I am not sure about mine, because there were a lot of very beautiful ones, especially from Miyama, Kawasumi, Ji So-Yun (those ones should anyway win for total number of beauty-points!), but I guess I could go with Mina Tanaka's first one during Nadeshiko League's clasico in first leg of the league: it was really a pearl.

You're right, bringing parity to the league is of paramount importance. I would argue though that ideally, that parity should be achieved by increasing the level of talent on the teams around INAC, not weakening INAC for the sake of the playing field. Honestly, I think that approach does more harm than good, seeing as taking away some of the more talented higher-profile names weakens the overall calling power of the league, at least contextually. Granted one, most of these have already or will inevitably happen, so the argument is really moot, and two) I'm not naive enough to think that increasing talent league-wide is possible. It's not entirely impossible, but that is a long project the league should strive for and this is a far simpler route in the short-term, all things considered. Of course, that's not why these moves are happening, at least I don't think they are, but that's neither here nor there.

INAC aren't the only team that have lost a slew of players going into next season either and the teams that are quiet currently will likely lose and gain some players as well as the season draws closer, so the fun thing about next year will be whatever parity reveals itself circumstantially as a lot of the teams shift their faces, however partially. There aren't many teams that have bolstered their units yet (INAC included), so regardless of whatever pieces have gone missing on the board as of now, a lot of time remains for potential changes to be made in the name of taking that crown.

Maybe that NTV and the Belle will lose their best players to the profit of... INAC, who knows ? And everything would keep going on as before...:p

On 24th January (6.30 pm) in Décines (France), the Vaulx-en-Velin National Training Center (Pôle Espoir féminin) will welcome Tokiwago High School whose players were born in 1996 and 1997, the French website Footofeminin informs. It introduces Tokiwago as "the best Japanese training center who, in spite of its players young age, competes in the 2nd division league, holding the title".

    Couldn't they be sisters ? The "old" Beverly Goebel-Yanez (25 y.o.) and the "young" Jessie Fleming (15 y.o.), Canada's future star ? :)

What exactly is this facility? Are Tokiwagi students being invited to enroll there or are a group of Tokiwagi students participating in some sort of cultural exchange event? They seem to be very specific about the age group involved, 16-17 year olds.
