' 1-1 Dydasco left throw-in. UVa ping it, but Brian can't keep it in. UCLA left throw-in, UVa win it and hoof up to box top (their) right. UCLA 1-v-1 defense, perfect backshield and calm turn under pressure.

' 1-1 UVa keep possession at 20m box top right. Backpass to circle top, probe up the right. But UVa fouls.

' 1-1 UVa long pass toward Doniak at box top arc right, intercepted. UCLA let ball sit at their box top mid-right, nervy backpass to Rowland.

' 1-1 UCLA backline ping, but the forward pass lost. UVa lose it back. UCLA surge up arc left line, to Mewis at 24m. She tries a through-ball to box top mid-left, intercepted.

' 1-1 UVa surge to 24m box top center, pass wide to box top left. Try a center pass, UCLA gather it. UVa return from midfield, Brian(?) shot from box arc top -- deflected left and over.

' 1-1 UVa left corner, shot drifts wide left. They chase it down, keep it in. 2nd cross to box top arc right, UCLA survive and clear.

' 1-1 UCLA can't clear midfield. UVa fk at circle top left touch, sailed high and UCLA heads it over, but UVa offside.

' 1-1 UVa fouled at 25m mid-right. Brian shoots high.

' 1-1 UCLA sprints up arc left to 20m, perfect diagonal pass clips the hangnail off, but wide player's shot blocked. UCLA takes ball down left touch, crosses back to 16m mid-left. Shot blocked, UVa punt it down to Rowland. AE1.

' 1-1 UVa probe up the right, teams exchange turnovers. LB Menchel floats a cross from 20m wide left into the 6, Rowland catches face-high. LB #3 Dydasco is down with a left cramp, clock stops.

' 1-1 UCLA subs in freshman #6 Lauren Kaskie for LB #3 Caprice Dydasco.

' 1-1 Oyster longballs down wide left for Smith alone. She cuts into box left at 12m to mid-left, shoots hard right instep bending -- Stearns dives but is late, off left post and bounces hard back into the box.

Omg at that shot by Smith. Post strikes again. Man, did that kid put some power on that shot.

' 1-1 UCLA longball down wide left, too far, over endline.
' 1-1 UVa try passing into stationary backshields at circle top, UCLA swarm ball away. UCLA press to the front 1/3 -- LB #6 Kaskie is up in the attack

' 1-1 RB Courtnall hoofs a high cross from 30m box right, across the mouth. Stearns thinks it's going wide, hops just in case -- off left post high, down into Stearns' high left palm, and out. Good thing she faced that palm outward!! UVa escort ball out, clear ...

' 1-1 UCLA squares to Mewis at 21m arc right. She turns, steps forth, shoots hard -- curls wide right.

' 1-1 UVa gk, UCLA clangs it sideways into touch.
' 1-1 UVa frenetic possession, they work ball across box top left. But the final through-ball to endline mid-left isolates a gassed UVa vs. a UCLA defender on afterburners.

' 1-1 UVa left throw-in at midfield. Both sides ping it around. UCLA finally backpass to settle it.

Maybe Morgan Brian will hit the last penalty kick and be the hero because she was non existent in this game. Not a MAC Herman type performance.

'10" 1-1 LB Menchel drifts forward, but UCLA pokes into touch.
'30" 1-1 UVa two left throw-ins. 2nd one bounces wackily in box -- Doniak turns at 15m 6-left, flicks -- wide left.

'50" 1-1 Rowland tees up the gk, but just stands over it. Countdown ends. AET, PKs!!

Putting a Cary girl on the line for a penalty kick was cruel and stupid. Appalling coaching.

I think the subbing of a GK at that stage is too risky. Just let your starter remain; she's already warmed up.

Anyway, congrats UCLA. Now, go win the whole thing!
