#2-seeded Nebraska is the first team into the round of 32 with a 4-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana. All 4 goals were from Jaycie Johnson, and the Cornhuskers put up 17 SOG. They'll play the winner of Northeastern @ Boston College. UMBC @ VaTech is the other early game tonight and just kicked off Here is the interactive bracket with all scores: http://www.cstv.com/gametracker/brackets/2013/ncaa_bracket_DI_soccer_women.html?partner=cs
I was waiting for someone to start it and I got too antsy once the games began Second team in the Round of 32: Virginia Tech as 2-0 winners over UMBC. 20 shots to 1 in favor of the Hokies. Goals by Mayrose and Manning. They'll play the winner of Rutgers @ West Virginia.
What happened in the 66th minute in the BYU game? On Gametracker, I see a yellow card on BYU, a red card on WSU and a goal by BYU. Any details?
The Weber goalie came way out of her box to clear the ball and collided with BYU forward Ashley Hatch -- the goalie won the ball and Hatch received the yellow. Right after this, Hatch made a break away on a ball and was taken down from behind by a Weber defended who was ejected with a red card. BYU then scored on a pk. Not the night for underdogs so far All finals: Virginia 5-0 St. Francis Boston College 2-0 Northeastern Notre Dame 4-1 Iowa South Carolina 5-0 Furman FSU 5-0 South Alabama BYU 4-0 Weber State
Are there specific Yellow Card accumulation rules during the Tournament? I'm noticing there's a number of them occurring this far and I wonder if there is maybe some down the road consequences for multiple bookings.
Notre Dame wins 4-1 against Iowa after an early Iowa lead on a PK. Right now the game between Marquette and Western Michigan is at a 0-0 tie in the second half. Notre Dame will play the winner between these two teams.
In the regular season you sit on your fifth, eighth, then every two additional yellow cards. Once you hit postseason, your cards carry over, but you don't sit on the fifth card, you start serving suspensions on the eighth. However, if you hit your fifth card on the last regular season game, a suspension does carry over. So if you were good during the season, you can foul like crazy in the postseason.
Wow. Western Michigan up 1-0 on Marquette with 5 minutes left. Video: http://ulive.cbssports.com/index-ncaa-dev.html?media=420655
Penn State 3-0 Monmouth Kentucky 3-1 Ohio State Western Michigan 1-0 Marquette. Michigan now in the driver's seat to host next weekend. Utah 0-0 Texas A&M after 90 minutes.
looks like the game is over...wow...first round loss for a team that may have been in the mix for a #1 seed based on RPI
Marquette is not #1 seed material, hence why I had Notre Dame beating them in the 2nd round, as did some other people here.
Texas Tech 3-0 Minnesota. I think I had the Gophers getting to the Sweet 16 Arkansas 2-1. Razorbacks win in Stillwater, but not sure how much of a upset it is. Texas A&M 1-0 Utah in 1OT. Aggies take on Texas Tech next, probably in Chapel Hill.
