it was a very tough game for both sides. I think we, PTY, came out a bit too defensive though, but I understand that coach was worried of USA's counter attack. The game was decided by one of the subs of USA, Brek Shea.

Lost the 2-0 lead at home to CR to kick off The Hex.. followed by your draw 0-0 to JAMAICA at HOME.. that was the one that cameback to bite you in el culo.

I know most of yall, if not all of yall are crying.. a win would've probably forever changed the sporting landscape in Panama, but don't worry! the worst thing yall can do now is throw in the towel! Don't give up! Panama have made a drastic improvement from not even making the Hex in 2010 to not qualifying by 2 minutes to Brazil. At the very least you'll see your U-17s in the World Cup!! I know they want to redeem some of what they witnessed tonight from the Seniors.

No debería tener vergüenza.

I am still speechless. But Catracho I couldn't agree with you more! I'v said it all along that draw with CR in the opening match and the goal less draw at home vs Jamaica were killer! I criticized Tejada early in the Hex for being in poor form but he came through the last two matches when it was all in the line unfortunately both times we could not finish the match. I like JDV I really do but some of his tactics are open season for questioning by the supporters, no doubt about that. I have no problem with him remaining as manager if the Federation decides to let him continue but he's going to have to take a hard look back at this Hex.

I feel bad for the veterans like Blas, Tejada and Baloy who wanted this more than anyone and could have been their last chance with La Marea Roja (not counting them out of any future involvement but they are up there) to make something happen. I am proud of the squad but they had the opportunities they just did not take them. This team does have some nice talent that can make some noise in the future like Gabriel Torres, Carlos Rodriguez, Jairo, Godoy, Blackburn, Roman Torres, El Negrito Quintero, Roberto Chen, and Penedo (who no doubt will still be leading the team next time if he still desires it) so I'm not down and out on the future of this team to be competitive for the 2018 CONCACAF run. As much as it hurts right now and for the next year through the world cup this Hex was a learning experience learn from it and make the best of future opportunities. But it sure is gonna seems like a while before another chance.

Big ups though to Costa Rica for giving us a chance. Big up to the Nats too they played to the very end and made their chances count when they easily could have just been like F it, will be cheering for you in WC. Best of luck to our Tico and Cataracho brothers I will def be cheering you guys on in Brasil, you guys deserve the success you have achieved thus far and hopefully in the WC. Central America Love always! It'll take a bit for me to get over this but you gotta move on. Siempre orgulloso de mi pais!

I don't know how to say it, if there are any Mexican fans, please, cover your ears or don't bother to follow up on me, but after watching what happened to Panama, I think its time the whole region splits and create a new regional system of qualification, tournaments etc.!!!!You can throw in Canada, Costa Rica or T&T since they're pretty much strong, but there should be a new and maybe fair way to distribute the regional seeding. My reason for this is because I have come t0 the realization countries like Panama, El Salvador, Nicaragua or St Kitts will never see the light of day in this region....Sure there is a lot of heart for the game in this part of the world, but the resources are not there to match which is understandable.
To even bolster my argument----some years ago I listened on one of those late night radio shows (football still gets put away like a 5th cousin in this country) One of the hosts just blatantly blurted out that the US/ Mexico should have their own means to qualify since the rest of the region is short on competition which is true. He went on to give examples of 6-0 drubbings against one of the weak Island nations. I could grasp his frustration, but I had to swallow that pill. Teams like Panama or even Guadeloupe could benefit by a new regional format that would enable weaker teams some parity in this region; let the Mexicans/ US / Canadians have their own round robin tournament. I have long accepted they're already stronger set of teams, but for Mexico to now have to play New Zealand which will be a
    possible walk-over anyway is insulting.

I hate what happened to Panama but, unfortunately, that's football. As I stated in my previous post, not only Panama has improved but several teams are beginning to close the gap and a couple of teams are a coach and consistency away from being teams that can compete for world cup bids regularly. What I will agree with is that CONCACAF needs to change and streamline the qualification process so every team is involved and so that every team doesn't feel like it's USA/Mexico/CR vs the rest of CONCACAF fighting for the chance of that .5 spot. @Spurs74 CONCACAF cannot really control what resources each federation puts into its teams' development so if the small island nations can't field quality teams then that isn't the fault of the confederation. In fact, the system they have in place now somewhat benefits those small islands but they haven't figured out how to compete with the Jamaicans, Haitians and even Trinidad & Tobago, who were a surprise in the gold cup. Hopefully, their growth will continue. As for Panama, they will learn from this experience. In fact, everyone will grow from this. The next cycle is going to be BRUTAL as a result because teams like Panama, Honduras and Jamaica WILL BE HUNGRY want to start their campaigns efficiently and quickly to secure a spot for GC & WCQ 2018 and also the new kids will be looking to make names for themselves.

    My questions are......

Can the USMNT stay on top?
Will Mexico be able to rebuild?
Will Costa Rica take the next step?
Has Panama & Honduras finally turned the corner?
Can Guatemala, El Salvador & Jamaica rebound?
Can Canada, Nicaragua, Belize, DR & PR build at all?
Who will be the next new kids?

    P,
Its nothing I have not heard before. Im saying something no one wants to readily admit to. I get that other teams are catching up in the region; Panama cant always be up to this standard unless they can improve, but this seems to always be a given in this region and if there are other ideas to come up, fine, otherwise, I'll stand by my comments!!!.

Sure its not anyone's fault at the way how CONCACAF became FIFAs toilet for fraud and greed---forgetting to put that money where it belongs in development, resources, infrastructure. etc. It is not entirely their fault that teams in this region are not really up to a standard. I accept that readily despite their corrupt/inept state. The FAs of each representative state, are not at total fault. They just have not done or kept up any momentum in improving the game in this region. No one has found a collective means to better the situation. Its there, no one has unlocked the riddle.

To answer some of your questions :US/Mex/CR have long taken the next step and that will only be on match day when it counts. Honduras has turned the corner. Canada, Belize etc. can build if there is sufficient backing in terms of squad depth or interest particularly with DR & PR (el beisbol ) Jamaica can only rebound if they have stronger squads or access to their UK-based players.

The ideas are there, but something else has to change in how this qualification process goes. The usual gets served up, but what else is on offer?

Each federation just has to do their job. The most important thing is get sponsors on board, but real 100% committed sponsors, and understand that the process is multi year/long term and just won't happen overnight.
