Good Stuff From Cole Pepper........ Is it 2015 yet?? http://colepepper.com/2013/08/jacksonville-soccer-starting-from-scratch/
Puerto Rico Islanders would be my guess. Even with low attendance, I don't think Edmonton is on the block just yet until Fath gets tired of shelling out money. Suppose that it could have been one of the Traffic franchises (Atlanta or Carolina) but I would highly doubt it since neither of those fit the 'broken' description.
That is an interesting twist. Should the PR Club relocate to Jacksonville. PR last played in 2012 and if they should not field a club in 2014 that would be two seasons. How would this affect Jacksonville if they were to acquire a relocated PR club rather than starting from scratch?
What will the 2015 season set up look like with a planned 13 teams? 2014 11 clubs playing 3 times each for 30 games. With 13 clubs in 2015 would the NASL split into two divisions?
I think they may need more than 13 clubs to split into divisions. I think a home and home for 24 games and play 6 clubs a third time for 30 games.
The plan is to have 14 teams for 2015. Have to do it right of course, but they don't seem to be giving up on Puerto Rico as of yet, and there's still a possibility Calgary gets in for 2015.
I don't think they are counting on the Islanders anymore. That ship has probably sailed. I wouldn't be shocked if it was Atlanta. Traffic was only suppose to have a 3 year commitment to them and own 65% of the Silverbacks. They put their percentage of the team up for sale earlier this year. But so far there have been no takers. Without Traffic's cash, Boris Jerkunica whose ownership stake is 35% of the club, would probably have to shut down the Silverbacks like he did a few years ago. And like they did with their reserve team this year.
