it will prob take me another 10 years for me to catch up with epl, zero creativity, everything is crosses and rebounds.

this is why Mourinho failed at Madrid.

Nothing is going to change a small number of teams dominating Spain, Germany, and England. But there is nothing to prevent someone from enjoying good football played by teams that are not one of the dominators. I watch games to be entertained. If it happens to be a game between the 5th and 7th place teams that is well played, it doesn't matter to me that neither one has a chance to win their league. Yes, it sucks that a select few will win their leagues most years, but what is a fan supposed to do ... ignore those leagues? That's not an option I choose.

ummm, the Premier League is not two at all. This year you can easily argue their are 3 if not perhaps 5-6 serious title contenders and the top 4 is open to more than 6 teams.

that's laughable there arent six contenders at all... but honestly premier league has been a one team league for ten years now.... now there is more parity but is because the arent any top teams like madrid or psg or bayern in the league... united is not what they used to being... same with italy serie a the level is down so it seems there is more parity

how the hell is the premier league a 1 team league? United, Chelsea and City have all won the title recently.

It is good to see Real Sociedad playing well. I have been catching the few matches of theirs televised in the states against the big teams and now finally with the champions league I get to see them play some more.

It's only three seasons since the Bundesliga was decided on the last game where 4 teams could have won it. A week earlier, there were 7 teams within 3 points of each other at the top of the league. That was when Hoffenheim ran away from everyone in the first half of the season until Ibisevic got hurt and they got reigned back in.

La Liga is quality though. People talk about the two at the top, but the reality is any of their top 6 teams matches up to the top 6 in England. Look at Chelsea getting dismantled in the Super Cup by Ateltico last year. Even at the bottom, I'd bet on teams like Elche and Levante to beat the likes of Hull or Palace.

The problem is the top 2 in La Liga are above and beyond the rest... I think they would be the top2 if they played in other leagues.

You're right really, the top two would likely be the top two in every league in the World, so everyone else is just clinging on. I think the rest of the teams are of a good quality though, they are often overlooked in the UK, but Atletico murdered our last European Champions the same year that Bilbao gave United a lesson in movement. I'd imagine most teams in La Liga compare favourably with their Premier League equivalent.

Yeah city and chelsea won one recently while United have won five in the same time span so is still a league dominated by one team.

It's not 2011 anymore. Not even sure if what you're saying was true in 2011, but it definitely wasn't true last season or this season.

OTOH, the EPL is very balanced now. 3 equal title contenders, plus another 3 with an outside chance.

In any given season you're right, but the point I was making was that they have resources and fanbase and stadia that outstrip every other team in every other country. You could make an argument for United or Bayern I suppose, but even then they are a ways behind. Eventually, over a period of time, those kinds of advantages are generally exploited.

EPL this year is interesting, very tough to call with so many management changes. Standard of football has been lacking somewhat in the first few games, but takes a while to integrate so many new players on each of the top teams. Good to see Serie A starting well, lots of goals and some exciting football too.

You would think, but Florentino Perez is the evening-out factor I guess. If not him then there must be some other factor that cancels-out Madrid's financial advantage because the results clearly show that Madrid were only among the top 2 in Europe for at most one season during the past decade.

Is the EPL more competitive? yes, no doubt about that. La Liga is in a lot of trouble and if they don't level the field soon a lot of people (such as myself) will stop even caring about following it.
I honestly have not felt that Atletico or any other team for that matter has a chance in hell to win La Liga in the last 10+ years, thats really messed up.

Just like the OP I tried to watch EPL instead.. and it was UUUUUGGGLLYYY play. I am also watching the French League for the AS Monaco players... and it is UUUUGGGGLLYY play. Very fast paced game, and no substance.

The Spanish league is a joy to watch in my opinion. No league like La Liga.

As much as I try so hard to watch EPL, I cant, all they do is go to the sides and cross the ball, the same as watching Mexico playing, no to mention all the reckless and unnecessary challenges.

I cant watch bunch of dudes wrestling each other for the ball, this is why Copa Libertadores and some Champions Leagues is what I enjoy the most.

The game is becoming unwatchable, we need more Ronaldinhos out there.
