Bloomberg was a power hungry plutocrat who dreamed of being president of the US. But knowing he had no chance instead installed himself as dictator of NYC and turn that city into a modern Police state.

Don't see anybody beating her now, she has the woman and gay thing going both which are "hot brands" as of now. Weiner was her only legit challenger.

I disagree, mostly because the person before him actually was a fascist who wanted to be president. Bloomberg was always going to look great after him.

We'll enjoy whatever inferior part of the nation you reside in and leave the debate about the future of our city to those of us who actually want to be here.

    You quit. None on us.

She will be quite competent, thank you very much. Too bad nobody cares who runs wherever you live.

A fine technocrat but not really a leader. He will serve Mayor Quinn quite well, particularly with regards to NYCHA and the Affordable Housing Resource Center which seems to be his strengths, IMO.

    The fro is amazing!

Very provincial now aren't you? She is a Bloomberg clone, nobody really cares about NYC they are just fascinated with such a farce that your mayoral primary runoff has become.

Not offended by this one bit

In all the right ways, yes. Not in the annoying ways. In case you haven't noticed, Bloomberg has done a substantial amount more good than bad for this city over the last 12 years. But then again...

Nobody? You are the silliest of geese.

Dude lets be real most New Yorkers don't even vote in the mayoral race, turnout is super low all of the time. If the outer boroughs actually got off their asses and voted Giuliani and Bloomberg never would have been mayor.

I meant the Bronx and Queens in particular. Staten Island will always be a bastion for republican mayors who run in NYC no question. tbh Staten Island is trending blue Obama carried SI in 2012.

Seeing that Obama is about as liberal as Richard Nixon this isn't really indicative of anything. Joe Lhotta and John Catsimatidis would be considered dangerous leftists by national standards.

Such hyperbole, its chic to say Obama is not "liberal" and that Nixon is "liberal" this is furthest from the truth. Nixon had no choice and just rolled with a democratic congress and sign off on many pieces of legislation that he would never had done. Nixon still developed the "Southern Strategy" hardly a liberal strategy, still continued the Vietnam war and expanded it into Laos and Cambodia that is hardly liberal and he despised liberal causes and individuals throughout his career. He moderated his rhetoric and position during the 1968 election so he could be a consensus builder and appeal to the "silent majority".

Obama is an effect a liberal through and through but enacts and postures in a moderate way to pacify his opponents. Go watch that 2nd inauguration address that is the real Obama. He is the most liberal democratic president since FDR.

Just read this in the BBC online magazine...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23497130

Sex scandals used to doom a politician. Now, they refuse to back down from evidence of dirty deeds. Have we reached a new age of American politics?

With the volume turned down, the latest campaign advertisement from Anthony Weiner feels more like a hostage video.
