Ok. So no constant news of the NT as in the form of player development, strategy, managerial tactics, future of the NT or changes that can be made are discussed on this boar?. That seems odd.

I guess the Old Firm trumps the NT

You have a search function right? Give it a go and you'll find a thread on managerial appointments, U-21's etc

You'll notice a button to open new threads if you see fit. As soon as Scotland is interested in player development, strategy, managerial tactics, and so on, we'll probably see more discussion of it.

All the above topics have been exhaustively covered already.

Player Development - our hatchet tackles and career ending assaults now have world wide notoriety. So much so that as soon as Scottish football is mentioned in any conversation that is the first thing that crops up.

Strategy - don't lose (heavily). 1 or 2-0 losses are acceptable as long as our player development program is being followed (as above)

Managerial Tactics - see above. Also, as a sideline - try to piss off the MSM (mainstream media as much as possible

    See? All covered already.

Hi all, wondering if this thread is still live. I am a footballer and student researching the history of association between Celtic FC supporters and the people of Palestine. Wondering if anyone has info concerning the first time Palestinian flags were flown at Parkhead, Ibrox etc. From what I understand so far 2002 is ~ when this started to occur. If anyone has photos, stories, links to share it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Not sure. It's maybe not the best place to ask, as most folks here are Americans, not Scottish locals.

Your best bet would be on kerrydalestreet.co.uk, it's the biggest celtic forum, and it's better moderated than most Scottish forums.

    Other options include talkceltic.net, rangersmedia.co.uk, pieandbovril.com.

Warning: be prepared for your eyes to bleed, people aren't necessarily well mannered and unbiased when it comes to this topic... or to almost any Celtic / Rangers / sectarian topic...

Agreed. Held onto Dembele and Gordon during the transfer window. Form has been good but already looking forward to next season.

Didn't know where to post this, so I decided here must be a suitable place. In an interview with BBC/Persian, former Iranian NT manager at 1978 world cup recently revealed that English National team manager and his assistant made a visit to Iranian team camp few days before Iran-Scotland match and provided them with information regarding how to stop Scottish team from advancing to the next round. Iran drew that match 1-1 and prevented Scotland to advance. It seems rivalry between England and Scotland was serious back then.

query: Why are Aberdeen's greatest rival rangers?

No it is not because of the Niel Simpson on Ian Durrant tackle in 1988.

Does anyone know if the Old Firm games are excluded from Paramount Plus' coverage of the SPL for US viewers? My Paramount Plus subscription did not feature the game Sat Dec 30, although I was able to see a highlight review today (probably after expiration of a 72-hour blackout).

I've only had Paramount Plus for a few months, and so far I'm unsure if my subscription tier excludes certain games (like Old Firm) or they're just not offered to US viewers.

    Any insight appreciated, thanks.

There's little on the Paramount Plus site explaining the scheduling of the live Premiership broadcasts for viewers in the US. There are a couple live games per weekend, and yes they're identified a week ahead of time, or more in some cases. And then most games (it appears) are shown in replay, after a delay of two or three days. Likewise there are highlight cutdowns of most games, if not all, available sometimes same-day or after a delay of two or three days.

Yet I have not found anything explaining whether Old Firm matchups are excluded from being shown live. Without further clarity, my guess is that Sky has the live rights to the Old Firm games, which precludes them from being featured by Paramount Plus for viewers in the US.

The current options via Paramount Plus are still better, in my opinion, than the old days of Setanta subscriptions, or the short term that Bleacher Report held the broadcast rights for US viewers. But it would be helpful to have some clarity, rather than having to wait week-to-week to learn whether Celtic games will be shown live. If anyone has further detail to offer, of course I'm eager to learn more.
