If only he were Canadian -

    Jozy out the door, eh!

Sure it stinks. But it's my stink.

I think at this point Jozy and Footy Cats gets my vote.

Significant, but not overwhelming for Sunderland. If 8.6 mill pounds is correct, that's sixth all time, slightly ahead of the 8.0 m. paid for Conor Wickham and Anton Ferdinand. Seventh consecutive season Sunderland have had at least one transfer for 8.0 m. Given the anticipated revenue from selling Mingolet and the increase in TV revenues kicking in this year, it's not a massive price to pay.

Anyone have access to the "exclusive" interview on Sunderland's website? As much as I want to pay a monthly subscription, I'll pass.

If you mean players who transferred straight from a league outside of the big 5 to the Premier League, and you're not including the Championship, there's been on average exactly one per season (going back to 2005). The most recent ones in order are Benteke (Belgium), Suarez (Netherlands), Chicharito (Mexico), Odemwingie (Russia), Arshavin (Russia), Zaki (Egypt), Kuyt (Netherlands), and Benny McCarthy (Portugal).

And depending on what you mean by first full season, there are a coupe others in that period that might technically qualify (like Lukaku and Tevez).

Gotta give it to you guys. I thought Jozy would have gone for less than $10 million. AZ got paid Big Time. Swimming in Altidore/Maher transfers. That's 16 million euros for them this summer.

And Jozy beat his own transfer record, so he's worth 23million dollars in transfers. Imagine if he could break that with his next move.

Benteke has to be the most impressive considering coming from Belgium. Well then again Zaki was scoring for Wigan.

Kevin Kilbane was on BBC Newcastle earlier today to talk about Altidore, the section of interest starts at about 42:45:

Nothing particularly notable, but generally positive comments.

Wait, are you gonna troll Jozy threads all season? I hope so. That alone will be worth the price of admission. Although I think DiC will be worth a bit of real entertainment as well.
