Almost half of the current starting line-up of the Ghana national team: Andre Ayew Sulley Muntari Kwadwo Asamoah Mubarak Wakaso Christian Atsu David Addy Baba Rahman And of course - the legend himself: Abedi Pele Ayew
I'm the same. I just copied and pasted the names of the players which have been posted in this thread. I must admit that I am not familiar with about a quarter of the names myself ...
That is a high number of left-footed players in one team. A while back I had started a thread asking which national teams had the highest number of left-footers. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...-teams-with-most-left-footed-players.1988984/ The answer was West Germany in 1980 and England in 1990 (both 5).
Well... there have been games where Andre Ayew was deployed on the right, while either Mubarak Wakaso or Christian Atsu featured on the left, while other midfield players were Kwadwo Asamoah and Sulley Muntari. I'm not however sure there was ever a game, where the LB was left-footed (normally right footed Afful or Opare plays in that position). The Ghana squad also has Majeed Waris, who is two-footed. But not sure if that counts. If it Waris counts then: Ghana vs Sudan 24th March had 5 left footers: Waris, Asamoah, Muntari, Kissi Boateng and Wakaso. There was also a brief 4 minute window in the Ghana vs Egypt game, where 4 left footers and Waris were on the field together. Thereothically it is possible for Ghana to field 6 left-footers: Andre Ayew + Wakaso / Atsu on the wings, Waris up front and Asamoah + Muntari in midfield and a left-footed LB (Baba Rahman, David Addy or Richard Kissi Boateng).
Kevin Sheedy (1980/90s Irish international) Norman Whiteside (1980s Northern Irish international) Jesper Olsen (1980s Danish international) David Thomas (1970s English international) Frank Ordenewitz (1980s German international)
Bobby McDonald (Scottish left back of the 1970s/80s) Tommy Caton (English center back of the 1980s) Paul Power (English midfielder and defender of the 1970s/80s)
Neil Young (1960s/70s Manchester City forward) Tony Coleman (1960s/70s English left winger) Dave Gibson (1950s-70s Scottish international midfielder)
Ian Redford (CM - Dundee, Rangers, Dundee Utd, Raith Rovers) - sadly and unexpectedly found dead this past weekend.
Pires and Lineker actually were right footed so I'll add these to take their place: Georgi Kinkladze Dejan Savicevic To be continued....
