Problem is because of how scouting is today all the big clubs already know about their best players and who they are. They'll take them easily since they dont have to invest in their own homegrown players anymore. Kurt Zouma for example is 18 and highly rated and of course Man U already know about him so how is St. Etienne going to be able to keep him much longer. I dont know if this is fact or not but someone said the Premier league youth/reserve teams have a lot of foreigners in them and if thats true then we are all F'd.

Also I dont think they have good management because Ive seen their owners being criticized a ton.

Isnt Clement out for the year ? Not as bad as Rennes losing Alessandrini but he did start most of their matches.

4 wins in a row but Garcia still sucks and should be replaced. Whats the point of qualifying for the Champions League if hes still going to be leading you.

Wenger is (or used to be) a great coach too. But his squad is currently a bunch of manure. Maybe Garcia has similar problems.

French coaches are losers in general. I think Houllier is the only one who won the European cup. There hasnt been a French manager take over a major European club and win in a long time. Dont know what Willy Sagnol is doing these days but maybe someday he coaches Bayren Munich and does well there. I hope Deschamps goes back to Serie A some day and finishes the job there.

Doesnt look like its happening. Might have been worth the risk to bring some excitement to an otherwise boring club. Im sure it comes down to Nicollin not being able to meet his salary demands.

He's not very popular outside of Marseille. I'll take Ludovic Giuly over him anyday.

The president of the French League says the arrival of David Beckham at Paris Saint-Germain has turned the eyes of the world onto Ligue 1.

Speaking on Monday, LFP head Frederic Thiriez, 60, stated his delight at the impact veteran Englishman Beckham is having on the image of French football across the globe.

"You can't imagine the extent to which the world is now watching PSG and Ligue 1," he told reporters. "It is only the French that don't seem to realise how big this is."

Thiriez admits that he was not sure how the 37-year-old Englishman would cope on his return to Europe after almost five years with Los Angeles Galaxy, but he says that Beckham made a big impression on his debut against Marseille recently.

"I suppose you all changed your minds after seeing Beckham's first game," he continued. "I was there. I was a bit nervous to see how he would get on. Upon seeing his first touch, I said: 'This is good. He is a real football player. Beckham is terrific!'"

Beckham came off the bench for his debut in PSG's 2-0 league victory against Marseille recently and made his only start so far in the French Cup last 16 win against the same opponents three days later. He again appeared as a substitute in last Saturday's 2-1 win against Nancy.

Thiriez [IMG] The last transfer window was a fiasco and this feeling increased following the predictable injuries of Motta and the lack of back up for Matuidi who has been kind of exhausted lately because he's playing all the games with PSG and became a starter with the NT.
