Outside off the CCC, we have matches against C of C twice, Coastal Carolina twice, Clemson, and Wilmington. Is this our entire preseason list of matches?

Battery beat CofC 3-0 pretty convincingly 2 goals from Dane Kelly and one from Quinton Griffith. I think there was only one shot on goal for CofC.

Full time in Clemson. Battery win 5-0 goals from Cuevas, Prince, VanSchaik, Bardsley and Clemson Alum, Austin Savage.

Good to see so many goals coming. Coach is going to have a tough time picking his starting 11 this season.

The Charleston Battery defeated Coastal Carolina University by a score of two goals to one in a pre-season scrimmage Thursday evening at Blackbaud Stadium. 2012 USL PRO Rookie of the Year Jose Cuevas led the way scoring both Battery goals to take his pre-season tally to five.

he certainly came in looking to improve on last year. guy works his butt off and good to see him net some goals.

Here is a great article from CHS Soccer on the match
    http://www.chssoccer.net/969/

lot of guys have had a bit of a bug the last couple days and a few have a couple knocks but overall things are looking good.

I have to admit, I would really like to see Battery make a stronger run in the USOC this year.

You and me both. While I like the changes USSF has made to the USOC in the last couple years, the coin toss works against the Battery in the early rounds. We were always able to host a few games and that made it easier on travel. As Dan points out in the article, the dates this year could make for a challenge road schedule early on.

I think we definitely have the players to make it happen

noticed Sean De Silva was not signed by San Jose and is currently is back in Charleston. De Silva would take up an international slot on the team an not sure we have any available. Depends on the rules about whether the Cubans would take an international spot or if they status as refuges would give them a different status.

time to fire up the Google-fu

It is good to see some good comments on Chang, he is pretty good player, on the last Panamerican Games on Guadalajara, he was a complete nightmare for the brazilians defenders, look like my kids getting healthy :)

Lots of good looking talent in preseason. Quinton Griffin is really making an impression, especially since Auggie has been playing him at both left and right midfield AND defense.

college kids, Austin Savage knows how to get him self into positions to score goals. Sean Ferguson has looked pretty good in Center Defense if needed. Van Schaik and Bardsley have done good jobs too.

Add them to a great core of returning players, the Battery should do well this year.

The Battery defeat the Carolina Railhawks in Cary, NC 2-1

Goals from Quinton Griffith and Michael Azira. Expecting a brief write up later.

With the win, it puts the Battery 5-0 in preseason since the CCC and 20 goals for vs. 3 against so far.
