    Speaking of bro's...

The latest South Park's take on adult men as bro's is friggin' comedic gold.

I bet you didn't know that broadway musicals are part of a plot by bro's to get men blow jobs from their wives. :D

since i wasn't even interested in the college scene when i was in college i'm a complete outsider to this debate, but my very limited personal anecdotal experience leaves me in complete shock and awe that bryn mawr not only isn't in the top ten, it hasn't received a single mention in this thread. perhaps it was considered hors concours?

My uncle went to Cornell, but that was back in the early/mid 80's IIRC. He's a Cleveland native with a beat up Chevy S-10 pickup living in Eastside Metro Seattle and working for Boeing. He's always been big on jeans and plaid.

Fascinating list. I don't have strong opinions on any of them. I initially went to college in southern Vermont, but not at Bennington. I always assumed that to be a rather freaky college. Thought I heard the dormrooms were all co-ed.

What, did you go to Pepperdine? (pretend I put a winky smiley face here. An appropriate one, not the learing sicko one bigsoccer provides)

I stand by the article as decent satire. It totally nails Penn State, for instance.

douchiest? it would be more difficult to name the 10 least douchy... or even to find one undouchy one. after all, that's what being 18-22 is all about! let he who is without douche throw the first bag!

in any and all cases, here is the duche-iest college in the world: http://pust.kr/

I always considered a douchebag to be the South Beach, Florida-type who wears sunglasses indoors, while hipsters were the complete opposite. But now that I think of it, hipsters are just a type of douchebag. And so are the MIT-types. So guess you're right. It's everyone between 18-22, and in many cases well beyond 22.

I'm 37. I dress like a douchebag sometimes (do-rag, college tees, basketball shorts), but yet I hate most douchebags.

Whatever happened to skipping lectures to get drunk instead? Sometimes I worry about this new generation...

There would be some justice in putting a Women's College on a douche list.

Bryn Mawr has declined in prestige since my day, and thus presumably also in douchebagness. It would have been a runaway winner in 1980.

What many people consider to be the greatest Grateful dead concert ever performed happened on Cornell's campus in 1977. Is this a saving grace for the place or does it just contribute to the douche factor?

I was wondering if Duke deserved a reference. I worked there for six years. and was always impressed at the school's ability to maintain a level of pomposity that was equaled only by its obvious lack of self-confidence when comparing itself to schools who'd had 'elite' status for much longer (and it was always, internally, comparing itself to Stanford, Harvard, etc.). It was almost as tiresome as working at a place where so many of the students drove far nicer cars than I ever will.

I put myself through college doing turf management and landscaping at a rather expensive private high school. It always sucked to have to ask a 16 year old to move their illegally parked Mercedes or BMW because it was blocking the ramp to the shed for the riding mowers.

I have come to the realization that all colleges are douchey. Because they have college students, and that is an age of douche.

So Duke ... sure. A ridiculous place. But it has company in that regard.
