First half was alright. Giovania was MIA, so that hampered the team's offense. One thing I love about Erika's style is the way she usually goes with the one-touch pass. It's very uncommon among the Brazilian players, who love to hold the ball.

Oh, I love that about Erika as well. She's just so comfortable with the ball at her feet. That one touch style was on display in a beautiful sequence, around the 32nd minute. Erika executed the play flawlessly and it lead to a near perfect chance at the goal. But the player couldn't convert.

You think that Gia is cut out for this level? Or it's just not her tournament? I like what I see from Debora but sometimes, she tries to do too much.

2-0 Brasil. Fabiana caught the Danes napping.

In all honesty, I'm not very familiar with Giovania's play, so I can't say if she's out of her league. I think Debora is a very promising forward, but she obviously needs more international experience. Unfortunately she was snubed by the previous coach, so now she has some catch up to do.

I lost my feed for five minutes near the end of the Brazil-Denmark match, and when I got it back the score had gone from 2-0 to 2-2.

Andreia had made some outstanding saves before that. She reminded me of Timmy Howard against Mexico with one save and kick clear combination play.

Maurine was good when Santos was running wild on inferior competition. Foz exposed her many times before she made it to the Flash, where it was obvious she wasn't even a good sub, when listed with good international talent.

Is CBF paying for any players to come over to the new league? o_O

Yeah, Debora was done dirty by Jorge. Luckily, she appears to have put that behind her. You're exactly right about the promise that she has. Debora is good with her feet and has that hunger to score! I have to say that I really like her attitude on the pitch. There are a few areas that she needs to focus on but that can be said for all players. If Oliveria continues to play her(I believe that she started every match in the tourney), then Debora may end up replacing Cris at the top.

What happened on the 2nd goal that Denmark scored? I got up to put some clothes in the dryer and come back to see a tied score? Please don't tell me that Daiane was the culprit again..

The second goal was a collective failure, but Denmark's reaction was ignited by another stupid penalty from Daiane. She became a joke among fans. You just know that, at any moment, she will f*** things up. The team got kinda lost after that and since Erika was already subbed (she was felling a bit ill in those two last matches), there was no one to control the midfield.

:( Honestly, when Brasil was up 2-0, I said to myself: "please, Daiane, don't screw this up." What was up with Daiane wearing the armband?! I don't want to sound as if I dislike her, because I don't. Daiane is just too much of a "mental mush" to play at this level, let alone captain a team of this quality. She needs to take some time off and get it together, if that's possible.

From March 6th to 12th there will be in Rovinj (Croatia) an international friendly tournament, with Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bosnia and Russia: looks like the rules will be a bit like the Cyprus and Algarve Cup ones, the teams are splitted in two groups, first two matches within each group, last match against a team of the other group (chosen according to the group table?) :cautious:
Anyway, in the Slovenian NT there are 3 girls who are playing in the Italian champ., so come on Slovenia ! :)
