I stopped watching Dexter after season 4, I think it was. The one with John Lithgow and after his sister starts falling in love with him. It was just the same shit every week, and it got really, really silly. I'm about to watch the last in season 2 of Homeland... which has continued to be a great show.
The season final for Dexter was awesome! [result] Him and his sister kill LaGuerda[/result] Hmmmm. result tag didn't work. I had to "white" it out so scroll over it instead.
****MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS****** Its gotten so silly, i mean his sister is in love with him, one minute the blatnoi guy wants absolute revenge but then he's his friend, his sister finds out hes DEXTER and then they talk about his dark passenger like hes a sex addict... Im not saying its horrible, i guess the writers got too lazy for me, havent seen the finale gonna watch it soon. The thing is with homeland, is that its too unrealistic, i mean they lose abu nazir becuase he had a helicopter?!?!?! Its america bitchtes, they would have like 3 drones, 5 satellites, DEVGRU, the Omega Squad (Canadian Bacon) and have the FBI on their asses. The show makes the CIA seem like a bunch of kids. My friend Dan has better surveillance when he follows his ex-GF around. The Wire and Sopranos ruined every show for me, the standard of quality has gotten really high. At this point the only shows i deem amazing are all off: Boarwalk Empie Breaking Bad Mad Men GOThrones Treme Walking Dead (although may i say, if i would be in zombie apocalypse, i would have my shit on lockdown 2 seasons ago) when is the next HBO show coming out?
They just dragged it out for a 3rd season. Let's see how they do...love the show but season one was so much better.
I think you possibly hold too high an opinion of the CIA The reality is closer to Homeland than it is to Jason Bourne. I totally agree with the bottom bit though. And you can add The West Wing and possibly even Breaking Bad to that list, though it may be a bit soon for that seeing as it hasn't finished yet. Mind you, the likes of Alan Partridge, Cheers, The Larry Sanders Show, Blackadder, Seinfeld, and others should have ruined comedy for me, but I keep finding new things.
lol larry sanders show... great stuff, but i actually think there are plenty of comedy great nowadays, 30 Rock, Louie, Community, Curb, Archer, FG. As for the CIA, they may not be as good as one would think but you do realize the USA has like 15 other intelligence agencies lol. Saw the finale last night, im glad they had that twist, it sold me onto next season. Btw does anyone else hate Saul Berenstien as much as David Estes.
Yeah, but none of those 15 can go 'Oh, a helicopter took off? We can tell you exactly where that is". This is the same country that sent fighter jets out over the Atlantic to intercept domestic airliners, after all. Curb is in the same league as the others I mentioned, for sure. As is Louis CK's standup, if we were talking about standup. I really like 30 Rock and Louie, but they aren't that same world class standard.
if you like bobs burger (i dont) you guys have to see the first episode of season 4 of Archer, amazing. http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/Archer_23161/season_4/episode_1/ movreel links usually fastest
A new series of Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe available in the UK and probably in the US at some point. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01qh6w4 This was his 2012 take of the year...
im glad its over, it would have gotten stale like the office did, gonna watch the finally, prob gonna be great.
It had genius moments like the Amadeus spoof episode but has been flat for a couple of years. Just started watching House Of Cards on Netflix. Will reserve full judgment until its finished but thus far its good. Spacey seems to be channeling a little of Denzel Washington from Training Day and its not quite working but we will see.
