Japan is hit with a possible 4 injuries now, Kagawa, Uchida, Endo and now Komano. I hope they find a way to overcome Oman with a win.

We have replacements for all those guys who can do a job. Big chance for either Hosogai or Takahashi.

Oman away will be a very difficult assignment I think. Last time in the 2010 WCQ 3rd round, Japan got a 3-0 at home just like this time, then away had a 1-1 draw. They have a must-win right now. They're riding a bit of form right now, equal 2nd in the group.

Komano .. not a huge loss. Anyways Hosogai deserves a shot and I would keep Kioytake in the midfield. My Choices GK: KAWASHIMA DF: NAGATOMO, KURIHARA, KONNO, SAKAI MF: HASEBE (reluctantly) ,KIYOTAKE, HONDA ,HOSOGAI FW: MAEDA, OKAZAKI

I'm not thrilled with the two strikers, but both are proven scorers.

as long as it's not Havenaar as FW, I'm fine. I think either Maeda and Okazaki are better strikers, especially their technical plays that helps out the MF.
Komano is a solid Side back and can deputize for 1st choice Nagatomo or RB Uchida. ( although I dunno if he played in the RB position, too). I hope Sakai will do well to replace Uchida. I believe Kiyotake can deputize for Kagawa well, as does Inui.
If Endo is out, Hosogai may do well in his position, teaming up with Hasebe. about Hideto Takahashi, I dunno him that well to say.

Going by the thread in Japanese Abroad, Hasebe is doing well now that he's getting game time. Glad to see that, as I really like him as captain, and when he's in form, it shows in the NT.

The winning entry for competition of the new National Stadium of Japan was announced this week. The winning design was by Zaha Hadid, a British architect. It will be used for Rugby World Cup in 2019 and as the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo's bid for 2020 Olympics. It can also host concerts and more importantly, the Japan NT. :D

yep, what a let down this contest was. The n°2 was another boring stadium (Cox) and the third was SANAA.

Yup, I wanted either SANAA or this one to win:

Somewhat of a rehash of the previous National Stadium design by Tadao Ando in the Tokyo bid for 2016 Olympics though, but still would be nice to see. Zaha Hadid was not a terrible choice however...

"Mei cojoni", like i would say in Italian. This is damn huge, seeing matches in that kind of stadium would be awesome.

Looks like a Damn Spaceship! Will it launch and float in the atmosphere for 90 min (120 for OT) then make it descent.

The point is that our (italian) stadiums simply SUCKS and football supporters don't give a shit about it (some probably like them too).
That masterpiece is something that we italians can't even imagine in our near (and far) future. Hope something will change.

I know someone will prefer shoot himself, but it's time to think about Toyoda.
Too good to be left out.
Almost 60 goals in 3 years and 19 in J1: i know someone really hates him, but goals speaks for him. Him and Kanazono could be the next "9".

I've been surprised with how many goals Toyoda's scored this season, thought he'd struggle in J1. Missed opportunity for Kanazono, injuries really ruined his 2012. But realistically I can't see both of them displacing Maeda or Lee (If he ever starts playing again).

IMO a few J1 strikers have the potential to offer a lot more than Havenaar.

This is the one good thing about the East Asian Championship next year. Gives the JFA (not sure Zac will care so much) an opportunity to play the young players and the J.League talent in a low risk situation. Give some a chance to really make a statement for Zac or even just for the future. That will probably be the most interesting squad next year.

Are you out of your mind AKITOD ? Top three Okubo - Tamada - Fujimoto with Ogasawara and Masuda in support and maybe a young player on the bench (who will warm up the whole match).

I actually think this one looks awesome! A stadium like this is definitely something Tokyo needs and the design, capacity and intimacy of the stadium seems all great! Kudos to the designer.

Seems that Zico is giving up from Iraq. Salary problems again, not getting paid basically.
