Some of you guys are calling for choi kanghee's head already. Wow. But I understand coach and the staff has to accounted for after poor showing.

Its been cr@p football his whole tenure. People who overlook quality for results made the same error with CKR messing up their pants beating up on india. smh

And I have to repeat again, I have to credit how Iranians kept pushing forward even after they went down a man. They could have decided to play a lot more cautiously after being down (a tie wouldn't have been horrible for them in that situation), but didn't. The Iranians played like they were at war (understandable considering their state of affairs leading up to the game, redemption for the Lebanon game and all), while we looked like we were simply there to play a game of soccer. Except for Lee KH and a few others I really didn't sense any sort of urgency or passion from the players today. It was like watching Korea vs Japan in the Olympics a few months back, except that sense of urgency was reversed.

It also actually reminded me of the Korea vs Japan friendly in the late 90's/early 2000's (forgot the exact date)... Japan had clearly a superior squad and we even went down a man in the course of the game, but then we won on one Ha Seok Ju wonderstrike. Sometimes this difference in passion and urgency wins games and I thought that was the main difference today.

Well eventually hong myungbo should take the poison chalice and take the full national team job. But at least for this qualifying round, we certainly do not another distraction of managerial changes. It's choi's team to qualify or die.

we were fine until after the zambia friendly. i thought the defense although not rock solid was pretty decent today. i didnt like PJW in the middle with Ki and i didnt like him starting KBK either. nobody has mentioned PJY and i was kinda disappointed in him as well. we should be relying more on players in form but it appears imo CKH is getting pressured like CKR to think more towards the future rather than the present. the Iran away match shouldnt be when we play 2 players in their first caps and play a brand new CB pairing.

Funny enough, ironically, one thing 김호곤 WAS able to do was to beat Iran twice, including once in Azadi, during his term as coach for the 2004 Olympic team. His perfect record in that campaign, to this day, is still unmatched by any Korean team at any level IIRC.

Unfortunately there aren't too many more positive things I can say about him otherwise... I do not like his negative tactics at all.

Yeah sure, much kudos to Iran to win this game a man down. They knew what happened to Qatar versus Uzbekistan game and they had to win this game to put themselves in qualifying retention.

Iran has our number, they play much better against us. They could be out "Achilles Heel"

Those were the days where he really utilized players like LCS, CTU, JJG, KJW, etc.

I've seen enough Iran-Korea games throughout my life to know that they're always incredibly tough against us, no matter what situation they're in. One team foils the other when they least expect it, then visa versa, then the cycle repeats itself. No one has anyone's number here. And I don't think this will ever change.

Perhaps the tightest neck-to-neck rivalries in Asian NT football I've seen over the years.

Yeah blah blah. They come to Korea, we will provide them with a schoolyard and a 4th floor motel. We score an early goal and grassroll til our hearts stops beating. Blah blah blah.

Speaking of which, we drew twice against Iran under Friendship Radish, lost once and won once under Cho Kwang Rae, and we lost today under CKH with the return leg remaining.

KSW should never start, used as a late sub
LCY should be starting over KBK, who was non-existent today.
SHM just needs some time to adapt to this senior NT team.
last of all, CKH needs to go, the way he wants to play these long balls are so ineffective

For me KBK is currently over-rated, he needs more experience.

Good game, I just hope we both qualify before the last match day so neither of us has to go through a heart attack.

Good game. Credit to nekounam to walk the walk. If you want to qualify, then you better get it done before our return leg in Korea on the last match. We'll definately remember this game and gave all the motivation for us win that upcoming last game against Iran to even up the score perhaps knock Iran out of the qualifying.

result is what i was being prepared for...iran is and has always been a thorn in our side.

historically, they're our 2nd greatest rivals next to japan.

i just don't like our current management. i think we can qualify with them, but we'll get raped in brazil if we don't have an established european manager...redknapp anyway?

Thinking back, if we were going to play "cross the ball to KSW over and over" tactic like we did today, then we might as well have picked wingers who CAN cross well, like Kim Hyung Beom or something... none of our wingers we deployed today were too decent of crossers... Ki delivered the ball on set pieces well enough but otherwise the crosses were lacking, as usual.

Is that obvious? Or was he not starting recently just because Coyle is stuck in his ways?

Crossing's not something I've thought of as one of LCY's strengths, actually. Not that he's bad at it or anything of course... he's alright at it, but not someone I'd call a great crosser or a type of winger who's crosses are main strengths to his game. The fact that he's totally off form right now didn't help.

Lee Seung Gi is eligible as a 'special talent.' If an 18 year old Miyachi can get a work permit, then so can he.

Wasn't able to wake up to watch the match. What a depressing start to the morning...
