So it seems that a Caribbean nation will again not be represented in the World Cup, and let alone in the Hex. Ouch.
Well the previous two Hexagonals had one Caribbean country, Trinidad and Tobago, who didn't reach the Semifinals this time. In qualifying for World Cup 2002, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago were in the Hexagonal, but they finished in the bottom two spots with fewer combined points than any of the other four countries had. Jamaica was the only Caribbean team in the Hexagonal for World Cup 1998. The final group in qualifying for World Cup 1994 had four teams of which only Mexico qualified (and USA hosted) and none of the four were Caribbean.
very hard to compete against powerhouses like Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Honduras, ... These countries have more people and more money
The DR has more people then Honduras and has developed some great baseball players while other Islands have developed amazing track athletes. If the Caribbean could get its act together they could field much stronger teams unfortunately most FA presidents in the Caribbean can get away with just taking as much money as they can and not doing anything for the sport. Jack Warner wouldn't happen anywhere else but the Caribbean. For as corrupt as other FA presidents are around the world none of them would be able to get away with destroying the sport in the country as much as Jack Warner has destroyed it in T&T. Other FA presidents in the Caribbean don't even feel enough pressure to start a domestic league or host world cup qualifiers in the country
an all these corrupt FA presidents are proudly sponsored by Septic Bladder, they keep him in power and he keeps them in power
Except Jack Warner isn't even a part of FIFA anymore he has a government job and is still screwing over T&T football that wouldn't happen anywhere else. It's also rare to find Caribbean fans that want a domestic league most seem fine with the status quo
And Jamaica mek me eat my words. Nicely done Reggae Bwoyz.. now to get a better coach and even better players. I hear this Junior Hoillet kid saw the Canada game today heh.
Curry or jerk? And congrats for Honduras taking the sledgehammer to Canada, although I don't think it was Suarez's plan to save up 2/3 of their goals for the last game.
Jerk Burger and Spice Patty sounds pretty good right about now. Does it come with Coco Bread Paul? Kola Champaigne, gotta do it one time for My Zoes.
