I never have made it down to San Antonio for a Scorpions game yet this season, but it's not too late yet. They play Carolina this Sunday (9/16), but with former Aztex player Jamie Watson on loan with Minnesota, I was looking more at the Sunday 9/23 game, when the Stars come to San Antonio. On the other hand, it looks like the #1 Scorpions will be right into the semifinals in the postseason (spots 1 & 2 skip the quarterfinals). Semis will be 2-game home-and-home series, but the particular dates for those aren't out yet. So I'm torn between the Stars game, which would have Watson but likely be next to meaningless as far as standings go, or waiting to see about a playoff game. Any insight, input, interest?
Let us know if you want to come to either game. We are presenting our Player of the year award and would love to have you guys come down and tailgate with us. We can provide tickets too at at good price.
I had a great time last night at the Scorpions v. MN Stars match. I was able to catch up with Minnesota CEO (and friend of ATX) Djorn Buchholz, as well as James Hope during the second half. The Scorpions have a pass out of the quarter finals of the playoffs, straight to the semis. They play October 14th (Sunday) at 6:00 p.m. I'm planning on going down for this.
Rats. I held out for the semis, and now see that game is on the Sunday of ACL Fest. They better get through to the final or I'm going to miss them entirely this year. Rats, I say!
Right now, the Scorpions will play the winner of Puerto Rico / Minnesota. So if Minnesota wins, then it'll be Minnesota v. Scorpions in the semis. That means Jamie Watson may be at the match (he wasn't this weekend as he injured his groin).
So the Scorpions home semi-final match (which is a 2nd leg) is against Minnesota on Sunday, October 14th @6pm. Do we have enough to grab us a group rate?
The Crocketteers have extended an invitation to us to join them for their tailgate, as well as get tickets for $10 (supporters section). If you're interested, email info@eberlysarmy.com
